Then there are humans with genes that are socially undesirable?
Yeah
Like you
and now for the slam dunk question. do you believe in free will?
That is a slippery slope.
Lol
Genetically gay <:think_woke:378717098681171988>
Yep, I believe in free will. Our processes are like a series of subroutines for many situations, but the uncharted territory between those situations is where we have free will
I suppose violent pathology is indeed undesirable. But you will weed that out, and then what will you cut out?
Hey now, you're the one advocating for Eugenics right now lol
I'm not.
Oh okay
legit congrats you've headed off my argument at the pass and given me something to think on.
Cool
I think people can be predisposed to certain behaviors, such as rapists and murderers, but we cannot make assumptions until they perform the act, otherwise we fall into precrime and thought policing. Purity tests.
I think it is sensible to offer psychological aid to them, but you cannot force help.
sure some people could maybe be genetically predisposed to be more violent. I dunno I havent read up. But it dosent really matter that much. We're humans and we can control ourselves @EnderOctanus
And if they cant control themselves we've got psychologists n shi
also I agree
I'm not questioning whether or not we can control ourselves, I am recognizing that some behaviors are less voluntary and more xumplusive for some than for others. And offering support before they commit the crime could benefit everyone. But at the same time, going past that point is incredibly dangerous as it removes human agency from the equation.
we should assign people their roles at birth
someone will be a scientist
and someone will be a street cleaner
that way
there will be no strife
You are not guilty until you actually commit the crime.
everyone will know their place
*YEAH SCIENCE*
and we should do it by race
and gender
<:makes_you_think:382980749780844554> <:ohsargon:451135765368274954>
We shouldn't treat people lesser just because they MIGHT commit a crime.
Yea that is insanity.
Innocent until proven guilty
yeah
if someone has a tendency to become a criminal
he should get preventative punishment
i think that is fair
to argue argus's point he said that free will comes from conflicts of data in human's hardwired brains these glitches remove determanism.
Offer aid to avoid the outcome,
