Then there are humans with genes that are socially undesirable?

2019-07-18 20:09:15 UTC

Yeah

2019-07-18 20:09:21 UTC

Like you

2019-07-18 20:09:23 UTC

and now for the slam dunk question. do you believe in free will?

2019-07-18 20:09:23 UTC

That is a slippery slope.

2019-07-18 20:09:24 UTC

Lol

2019-07-18 20:09:45 UTC

Genetically gay <:think_woke:378717098681171988>

2019-07-18 20:10:16 UTC

Yep, I believe in free will. Our processes are like a series of subroutines for many situations, but the uncharted territory between those situations is where we have free will

2019-07-18 20:10:20 UTC

I suppose violent pathology is indeed undesirable. But you will weed that out, and then what will you cut out?

2019-07-18 20:10:45 UTC

Hey now, you're the one advocating for Eugenics right now lol

2019-07-18 20:10:51 UTC

I'm not.

2019-07-18 20:10:57 UTC

Oh okay

2019-07-18 20:11:29 UTC

legit congrats you've headed off my argument at the pass and given me something to think on.

2019-07-18 20:11:41 UTC

Cool

2019-07-18 20:12:15 UTC

I think people can be predisposed to certain behaviors, such as rapists and murderers, but we cannot make assumptions until they perform the act, otherwise we fall into precrime and thought policing. Purity tests.

2019-07-18 20:13:26 UTC

I think it is sensible to offer psychological aid to them, but you cannot force help.

2019-07-18 20:13:38 UTC

sure some people could maybe be genetically predisposed to be more violent. I dunno I havent read up. But it dosent really matter that much. We're humans and we can control ourselves @EnderOctanus

2019-07-18 20:14:09 UTC

And if they cant control themselves we've got psychologists n shi

2019-07-18 20:14:18 UTC

also I agree

2019-07-18 20:15:28 UTC

I'm not questioning whether or not we can control ourselves, I am recognizing that some behaviors are less voluntary and more xumplusive for some than for others. And offering support before they commit the crime could benefit everyone. But at the same time, going past that point is incredibly dangerous as it removes human agency from the equation.

2019-07-18 20:16:09 UTC

we should assign people their roles at birth

2019-07-18 20:16:15 UTC

someone will be a scientist

2019-07-18 20:16:22 UTC

and someone will be a street cleaner

2019-07-18 20:16:31 UTC

that way

2019-07-18 20:16:35 UTC

there will be no strife

2019-07-18 20:16:38 UTC

You are not guilty until you actually commit the crime.

2019-07-18 20:16:40 UTC

everyone will know their place

2019-07-18 20:16:44 UTC

*YEAH SCIENCE*

2019-07-18 20:16:46 UTC

and we should do it by race

2019-07-18 20:16:50 UTC

and gender

2019-07-18 20:16:59 UTC

<:makes_you_think:382980749780844554> <:ohsargon:451135765368274954>

2019-07-18 20:17:02 UTC

We shouldn't treat people lesser just because they MIGHT commit a crime.

2019-07-18 20:17:20 UTC

Yea that is insanity.

2019-07-18 20:17:22 UTC

Innocent until proven guilty

2019-07-18 20:17:27 UTC

yeah

2019-07-18 20:17:30 UTC

if someone has a tendency to become a criminal

2019-07-18 20:17:36 UTC

he should get preventative punishment

2019-07-18 20:17:45 UTC

i think that is fair

2019-07-18 20:17:47 UTC

to argue argus's point he said that free will comes from conflicts of data in human's hardwired brains these glitches remove determanism.

2019-07-18 20:17:48 UTC

Offer aid to avoid the outcome,
