the first quantum computers will probably show up in labs in the arctic
because it needs to be supercooled
and i think the arctic makes it cheaper due to the environment
just conjecture
heh
quantum computers take a hell of a lot of power regardless
i could only really see them operating on like cruise ships or giant space ships or something
simulations
To watch those wrist rockets
in Doom 2016, the AI that runs the space station is called VEGA
and he's run by a quantum computer
but the power plant needed to supercool the processor is like 10 square kilometers
But can quantum computers run minecraft?
and the entire level is set in that power plant
:V
i dunno how realistic that is, but i was like okay
can they run minecraft
oh they float georgie, they float
"Quantum computing’s big advantages probably won’t begin to emerge until engineers build machines with many thousands or possibly millions of qubits."
yeah...
how big of a cooling center would that require? me thinks 10 square km
:V
power plant to cool the processor that is
it needs to be kept very close to absolute zero
otherwise 'noise' fucks up the processing and it gets all these weird bugs
We're STILL on this
on what?
you don't want to be on it?
can they run minecraft? well they can probably simulate pennywise the clown, so let that tell you something
Such a libtarded thing to say
the fk does that even mean, by simulate him you mean... ❓
quantum computers don't even perform more operations per second
iirc it's something like they take exponentially less operations to reach the correct answer
so they won't even be faster than normal computers
for small calculations
you can't really play video games on a quantum computer
but you can simulate weather patterns on it
you can play every possible game of dota at once on one of them
