Damn...you need a support car dude..

2019-05-03 23:35:51 UTC

Vallnord is nice (not as big, DUH) but way friendlier.

2019-05-03 23:36:35 UTC

It's kinda funny that, without support, Vallnord actually offers a BIGGER vertical drop than Alpe d'Huez.

2019-05-03 23:37:23 UTC

If you got help it's definitely bigger but you're gonna need a very supportive friend/relative so they can get you back up the hill a couple of times between morning and the early afternoon.

2019-05-03 23:38:17 UTC

When I go to Vallnord either I go alone (there's enough traffic on the mountain, unlikely for me to die alone) or my parents get me there, then leave me alone for like 7-8 hours.

2019-05-03 23:40:09 UTC

Die alone...hahaha.....atleast someone will be there to watch you die...

2019-05-03 23:40:37 UTC

The mountain patrol is linked to 馃嚘馃嚛's only and really good hospital, I've seen the helicopter come pick people up.

2019-05-03 23:40:38 UTC

You might of inspired me to get the mountain bike out in the nest few weeks dude..

2019-05-03 23:41:05 UTC

I once saw the helicopter pick one of my friends up.

2019-05-03 23:41:45 UTC

Atleast someone will come and get you dude...

2019-05-03 23:42:40 UTC

路 I convince a friend to come to Vallnord for a day
路 Ready the car and gear the night before
路 Wake up at 6:15
路 Pick him up at 7:00
路 Arrive at 馃嚘馃嚛 at like 9:15
路 Pick his rented stuff (gear and a bicycle much better than mine)
路 Eat something
路 Hit the 1st trail (blue one, 2nd-easiest level)
路 He does an endo and breaks his hip

2019-05-03 23:43:31 UTC

I've never had any half-decent injury going downhill and the fucker broke his damn hip after less than 3 minutes.

2019-05-03 23:45:04 UTC

I was leading, I heard the "bump" against the ground, I park my bicycle and start hearing him scream in pain. I got next to him and went like "Kane (his online name), tell me you're one big whining pussy and that it ain't so bad".

2019-05-03 23:45:20 UTC

"No! No! No! Call the mountain patrol, this fucking hurts for real!"

2019-05-03 23:46:13 UTC

I've crashed many many times but never got injured, not even close except for that one time I swear to God my kinda-flexible joints saved me from obliterating my right knee.

2019-05-03 23:47:18 UTC

Hahahhaha.... poor fucker

2019-05-03 23:48:15 UTC

I had done some cross-country with him, his riding skills aren't exactly awful, I guess he wasn't familiar with the bicycle and just tried too hard too soon.

2019-05-03 23:49:13 UTC

The problem with unexpected endos is that you tend to swing to either side. That means that, when you crash, you're gonna land on your side, which can easily lead to a broken hip and similar injuries.

2019-05-03 23:50:06 UTC

I think I'll be choosing a nice and easy run dude to start with

2019-05-03 23:50:24 UTC

Blues are easy, I swear.

2019-05-03 23:50:47 UTC

Greens are almost too mellow, you might even need to pedal and stuff.

2019-05-03 23:51:17 UTC

Blues rarely have any obstacles, you just have to brake and turn in a half-decent way.

2019-05-03 23:52:51 UTC
2019-05-03 23:52:59 UTC

Reds start to get sketchy, the runs can get a bit vertical and you're gonna find your first rock gardens and similar stuff.

2019-05-03 23:53:12 UTC

That's the one at cannock

2019-05-03 23:53:29 UTC

Blacks are insane that no dude that works Monday-to-Friday should even bother trying. Fuck'em.

2019-05-03 23:54:41 UTC

You use a different color system.

2019-05-03 23:54:50 UTC

I've always found that so annoying!

2019-05-03 23:55:01 UTC

I didn't realise that

2019-05-03 23:55:11 UTC

In Spain/Andorra/France I know it's green-blue-red-black.

2019-05-03 23:55:43 UTC

Your reds seem to be the equivalent to my blues.

2019-05-03 23:56:46 UTC

I see....did you check the elevation and drop of them

2019-05-03 23:57:08 UTC

And they are equivalent to your blues

2019-05-03 23:57:12 UTC

Yes, the average gradient of your reds is basically the same one blues tend to have over here (10% average).

2019-05-03 23:57:31 UTC

100m drop for every 1000m of length, that kind of rate.

2019-05-03 23:59:11 UTC

Your blacks have an average of like 12-16%, around the rate of a red one in my area.

2019-05-03 23:59:33 UTC

So ours go green blue red black but our reds are lower ...it might have something to do with the elevation in that area..

2019-05-03 23:59:58 UTC

Nah, it's an area thingy.

2019-05-04 00:00:28 UTC

I would have to check the one in Wales to see if they are equivalent.... perhaps it's because our mountains aren't as big..

2019-05-04 00:00:44 UTC

馃嚜馃嚫 馃嚘馃嚛 馃嚝馃嚪 & others = Green-Blue-Red-Black
馃嚚馃嚘 & other places = Green-Blue-Red-1Diamond-2Diamonds

2019-05-04 00:01:23 UTC

It's the same with skiing.
