Anyone dealing with crappy weather rn? Or bad thunderstorms?

2019-04-19 00:13:09 UTC

Earlier today, it stormed really hard.

2019-04-19 00:15:40 UTC

had some last night

2019-04-19 00:17:57 UTC

sorry to hear that

2019-04-19 00:44:08 UTC

At least my country didn't lose 10k soldiers against a much smaller army led by a man that was missing an eye, an arm and a leg. 😉

2019-04-19 00:57:52 UTC

US Gulf Coast

2019-04-19 01:04:40 UTC

Here it was nice weather, like 20°C at 2pm

2019-04-19 01:05:39 UTC

@Meme Bard tejas?

2019-04-19 01:05:57 UTC

Yesterday was a pretty day where I was. It's just getting hit by a band of thunderstorms. And @Seatoast no

2019-04-19 01:06:20 UTC

I probably could've more specific with my location.

2019-04-19 01:07:55 UTC

Hopefully you don't loose power and if you loose have been smart enough to prepare

2019-04-19 01:08:13 UTC

I've been juicing up my batteries

2019-04-19 01:09:55 UTC

Couple of concerns I have--tree branch possibly falling on my car and the animals at my sister's house not being okay, especially the chickens

2019-04-19 01:10:12 UTC

Way to heat food? Like wood stove or Trangia or something. It would suck if you wouldn't have warm food. We sometimes Have lost electricity during winter for day or two and without wood stove it would suck

2019-04-19 01:11:12 UTC

We have fire pit and some coal. Sadly, no wood stoves. Pretty sure we have a working generator now, however.

2019-04-19 01:11:51 UTC

Ah that's good. Fire pit is good but if it's storm outside that would suck.

2019-04-19 01:12:19 UTC

Yeah, but it should only be bad tonight according to meteorologists.

2019-04-19 01:12:25 UTC

Lemme check the radar rq

2019-04-19 01:13:11 UTC

Might have some more bad bands coming around midnight.

2019-04-19 01:13:45 UTC

Hopefully it's only tonight, are you living in area where restoring grip takes long?

2019-04-19 01:14:48 UTC

Nah. It's kinda rural, but not far from a big city.

2019-04-19 01:15:49 UTC

Last time we had a bad storm take out power, it was a tropical storm last year (forgot its name already) and my sister had power out for about 16 hours. It was more annoying than anything else. My dad's house got power in about 6.

2019-04-19 01:16:35 UTC

I'm not too worried about this storm unless another tornado warning says hello

2019-04-19 01:18:17 UTC

It usually takes day or two to them to restore the grip for our area so though that candles would be good thing to put burning so they provide light and a bit of a heat. Tbh especially 2011 wind storm when I was still quite young the electricity cut was more comfy and nice cause we are lucky enough to have resources for heating food and house and we basically played trivial pursuit and stuff in candle light

2019-04-19 01:19:08 UTC

I'm sure that my sister keeps candles around. I know my mom keeps kerosene lamps around, and my dad has those bright long-lasting LED lamps.

2019-04-19 01:20:25 UTC

That's good

2019-04-19 01:23:16 UTC

The 2011 dagmar day storm actually knocked over one shed in the field, now I know it ain't anything special for some other places but here it was something to remember
