I think that alone would tilt me towards piano

I'm listening now. But there is a particular Chopin tune (Nocturne op. 9 no. 2) that is steering me towards piano

Although, there is strings in that track too...

But,the piano really does it for me I think

I've played a stringed instrument since I was 9. I have a certain affinity for strings. Much more recently, however, I've been getting into orchestral pieces. I used to be nearly exclusively rock/punk/funk/blues.

It's nice to appreciate different styles

I don't really like to pick favourites, but certain jazz or funk tracks are excellent

I listen to everything from opera to metal, but playing the different pieces is new. I particularly enjoy blues/funk/soul just because the basslines groove.

yeah, funky bass is especially pleasing to the ears
