@Uberduperdrew from what I've heard, the amount of food you eat and eating less carbs and sugar is definitely the way to go. Don't be tempted to remove carbs altogether though. I hear dropping all sugar intake and reducing red meat helps. Especially avoid bacon.

About all you can eat is meat and cheese on that diet

2019-04-25 17:27:24 UTC

@Uberduperdrew on Keto? I'm not familiar with it, but I'd avoid cheese like the plague. It's almost solid fat.

2019-04-25 17:27:56 UTC

Lots of green veg will help.

2019-04-25 17:31:21 UTC

Lots of fluids too, so you feel full - but not smoothies, they're just empty sugar.

Low fat yoghurt and fruit is a good snack - but only if it's plain as the fruit or flavoured ones have lots of sugar. As do 'low fat' foods. Sugar is the main problem, as far as I've seen.

@everyone I've found you can add icons to channels in the Discord. If that's something you like or hate, let me know. I've added a couple as tests to see what people think. the full list of icons we can use is here: http://www.unicode.org/emoji/charts/full-emoji-list.html

I was thinking of 🚀 for <#515481742052818945>

2019-04-25 19:46:34 UTC

Not every channel would have an icon - mostly just the ones in Chillout to give them a bit of flavour.

2019-04-25 20:38:03 UTC

Eh, I guess it makes it interesting xD

I'm at a nice rest stop in North Carolina http://imgur.com/a/DdgcHVZ

2019-04-25 20:39:42 UTC

Very nice!

2019-04-26 01:53:01 UTC

is it wrong that I feel proud justification over the latest Gilette financial news? I mean I just feel super happy all those naysayers that said their negative ad campaign had no impact on their bottom line are all wrong

2019-04-26 01:53:23 UTC

its one of those "I told you so!" moments that I feel guilty indulging in

2019-04-26 01:53:54 UTC

Haha, I don’t blame you for indulging in it.

2019-04-26 01:54:36 UTC

Being happy that sexism doesn't bring profit to people in a certain situation is a good thing

2019-04-26 01:55:41 UTC

I suppose I should frame it 'faith in humanity restored'

2019-04-26 01:56:17 UTC

Eh, I wouldn't have that much faith, it's a problem that they felt it would be acceptable and the number of supporters it had

2019-04-26 01:57:06 UTC

right now I'm just waiting for the truth behind the Captain Marvel numbers to come out

2019-04-26 01:57:28 UTC

You mean Disney buying out theatres to exaggerate numbers?

2019-04-26 01:58:03 UTC

yes, yes I do

2019-04-26 01:59:35 UTC

I had a discussion with someone yesterday who said it wasnt sexist that brie Larson said 'I don't care about what a white male thinks' (or something to that effect) in regards to any review, because 'people don't have a right to comment on a culture/experience they haven't had'

2019-04-26 02:00:04 UTC

I'm confused how those two statements connect

2019-04-26 02:01:12 UTC

She was saying that their opinion doesn't matter because they couldn't possibly understand what the film was about

2019-04-26 02:01:43 UTC

that seems like a common goto excuse for movies that are very badly received

2019-04-26 02:02:00 UTC

Brie Larson made comments like that about A Wrinkle In Time

2019-04-26 02:02:06 UTC

which was a garbage production

2019-04-26 02:03:56 UTC

Yes, that specific quote comes from that review for it

2019-04-26 02:07:18 UTC

I don't get it though. She didn't seem to understand that someone's sex and skin colour doesn't determine their life experiences or how valuable their opinion and thoughts are. I could have pressed it further but honestly didn't want to since it was a friend of a friend

2019-04-26 02:07:36 UTC

the idea that A Wrinkle In Time is gated for only a certain type of people is so far from Madeleine L'Engle's vision its disturbing

2019-04-26 02:07:41 UTC

shes the author of the book

2019-04-26 02:08:41 UTC

I wasn't really debating how valid the review was or how bad the film was or anything like that, just that Brie Larson is a sexist

2019-04-26 02:09:26 UTC

oh yes

2019-04-26 02:09:35 UTC

by the very definition

2019-04-26 02:09:35 UTC

I'm not personally familiar with that work

2019-04-26 02:10:01 UTC

I can't really recommend it because its supposed to be read when you are a child

2019-04-26 02:10:07 UTC

its not really... as good... as an adult

2019-04-26 02:10:26 UTC

but its about fighting a force of evil with love and understanding

2019-04-26 02:10:33 UTC

so... yeah, total opposite of their message

2019-04-26 02:12:22 UTC

Ah, some books translate well to adults, I mean, I have read his dark materials, Harry potter and Artemis fowl as an adult and they weren't so bad, but I guess that one isn't one of them

2019-04-26 02:15:17 UTC

I've actually reread Artemis fowl a couple of times tbh
