Then there's the fact when we say tonsillectomy, it means that we are removing just the palatine tonsils only but not the nasopharyngeal tonsil, lingual tonsil and the tubal tonsils

If those are problems for people who get tonsillitus and subsequently have the tonsils removed, why are those not taken out as well? Is it not possible?

Its possible, but the tonsils actually form a part of our body's immune system

So actually we tend to avoid it unless necessary

That's the thing though, in this day and age, because we are able to deal better with issues, tonsils are usually only taken out when it is a recurrent problem for the individual. So in that circumstance I would tend to think that removal of those parts as constituting necessary

I know a guy who wanted to take them out to give better oral.

That's the thing, recurrent throat infection is actually the most common indication of tonsillectomy.
And about that guy neither will I.
