Does Russia still have bombers in VZ?

2019-03-21 16:20:47 UTC

@Waffle Evil Anatoly Karlin had a post recently talking about how Putin's actions in Crimea were the best of a bunch of bad options

2019-03-21 16:21:16 UTC

if he hadn't moved to annex Crimea, Ukraine would still be oriented towards the E.U. AND the Russians would have been evicted from Crimea by now

2019-03-21 16:21:27 UTC

Crimea was too strategically valuable for Russia to give up

2019-03-21 16:21:41 UTC

True. He also got his approval ratings back up in Russia by annexing Crimea

2019-03-21 16:22:14 UTC

@mattforney Yeah Plus Again Crimea is predominantly Russian and from what I remember Ukraine in Kiev was more or less taken over by actual neo-Nazis

2019-03-21 16:22:19 UTC

Then he used the backlash to clean house and get rid of dissidents

2019-03-21 16:22:29 UTC

demographically, Russia is fucked. the Russian minorities in all the ex-Soviet states are shrinking, reducing the justification for seizing lebensraum

2019-03-21 16:23:05 UTC

Russia is more Islamised than Sweden. Now Muslims make up 30% of Russians. almost 50% in the military.

2019-03-21 16:23:12 UTC

Putin wouldn’t have that much resistance. The Russians in Ukraine were told to: “go back to Russia.” They asked Putin to and they went back

2019-03-21 16:23:29 UTC

Ukraine has been Ukrainizing since the fall of the USSR: Western Ukraine has had higher birthrates and a stronger economy than Eastern Ukraine for years, meaning that Euromaidan was a demographic inevitability

2019-03-21 16:23:32 UTC

@Waffle Evil Totally they also have a lot more autonomy

2019-03-21 16:24:26 UTC

the Russian minority in Kazakhstan is also shrinking: the Kazakh SSR was something like 45 percent Russian and 40 percent Kazakh, now Russians are less than 20 percent of the population

2019-03-21 16:24:53 UTC

Wow and Kazakhstan is a pretty big chunk right?

2019-03-21 16:25:01 UTC

It’s one of the bigger stans

2019-03-21 16:25:04 UTC

Russia is The Rust Belt if it were a country

2019-03-21 16:25:15 UTC

Yeah, Daily reminder that Putin is just another globalist cuck Who postures like an alpha when he’s 5’7.

2019-03-21 16:25:22 UTC

Belarus is Belarusizing: Lukashenko is now encouraging everyone to use the Belarusian language while he plays footsie with Russia, China, and the E.U.

2019-03-21 16:25:42 UTC

the Russians have Armenia and that's pretty much it at this point

2019-03-21 16:25:54 UTC

largely because Armenians have historically seen Russia as their protector

2019-03-21 16:26:35 UTC

Armenia fits one of Russia's friend criteria: orthodox religion

2019-03-21 16:26:35 UTC

@mattforney yes but the real question is.... does Russia have Logos? LMFAO

2019-03-21 16:26:47 UTC
2019-03-21 16:26:59 UTC

@Waffle Evil But so is Georgia

2019-03-21 16:26:59 UTC

Only if Russia goes back to Slavic paganism lol

2019-03-21 16:27:19 UTC

@Waffle Evil rodnovar is makin’ a comeback people

2019-03-21 16:27:21 UTC

the Russian Empire historically acted as the protector of Orthodox minorities in the Middle East, chiefly Armenians

2019-03-21 16:27:35 UTC

Russia is already Orthodox. How much more Slavic Pagan do you want? lol

2019-03-21 16:27:46 UTC

@mattforney yeah especially after the Ottomans fell

2019-03-21 16:27:50 UTC

that was a major impetus for the Armenian Genocide: the Ottomans saw the Armenians as a potential fifth column in World War I

2019-03-21 16:28:31 UTC

@Deleted User Georgia got seized by pro-Western forces because it didn't rely on Russia for protection

2019-03-21 16:28:41 UTC

@mattforney ahh ok thanks

2019-03-21 16:28:44 UTC

Armenia would be toast in less than a week were it not for the Russian military

2019-03-21 16:29:28 UTC

they beat the Azeris in the Nagorno-Karabakh War back in the early 90's but because the Azeris are now flush with oil money their military spending is now exponentially higher than Armenia's state budget

2019-03-21 16:29:49 UTC

the only reason the Azeris don't invade right now is because the Russians would kick the shit out of them, guaranteed

2019-03-21 16:30:05 UTC
2019-03-21 16:30:12 UTC

Russia still has a military base in Armenia

2019-03-21 16:31:08 UTC

@White Wolf aka Purple Man You reminded me of this meme:

there's some speculation that the new Armenian government will go in the direction of Georgia and decouple from Russia. I don't see that as likely mainly because doing so would be suicidal
