Yeah as you said your last stream. Dollars strong now.
What’s that etias?
And what’s the schengan area?
the E.U.'s free movement area
I’ve been looking into Argentina the most so I’m behind kinda and thanks
it includes all E.U. countries except the U.K., Ireland, Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria
Oooh Croatia was another pick for me
and also includes Norway, Switzerland, Iceland, Liechtenstein
Thanks
when you enter one Schengen country you can go to any other one without passing through border control
Ahh gotcha
ETIAS is probably going to make it more difficult though
Thanks a lot
it's a preclearance system similar to the American ESTA
Ahhh that makes sense now
you pay seven euros for an ETIAS authorization before traveling
which means that border control procedures across Schengen will be unified
at least on paper
Yeah everything is on paper until in action just like how everything’s temporary until it’s enacted
😉
Gotcha much appreciated
look into Georgia and Armenia
Georgia offers one year visa-free stays for Americans
with no rollover period
so you can leave, come back and get another year
Wow that’s nifty
Armenia offers 180-day stays per calendar year and they're also likely going to liberalize their visa laws to compete with Georgia
Armenia sounds cool as well and I’m already passable in it.
It’s rusty but passable
And nice
I'm going to Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Turkey over the summer to see what things are like in each
Yeah my therapist has been supportive of me to visit the Caucasian mountains so this means a lot
Albania also allows year-long stays for Americans but I have no idea what the quality of life is like there
if it's like Serbia it probably sucks
And yeah turkey is like Russia I want to learn about it but the sources are so skewed it’s hard what to trust
friend of mine says they're actually quite welcoming to Americans
at least in Istanbul
@mattforney Albania I heard isn’t as bad as Bosnia
the Turks who end up in Europe are shitbags, the ones who stay behind are more on the ball
which makes sense
