then Google Hangouts on Air shut down last week, leading to the shit show that happened over the weekend

imagine being so retarded that you can't figure out how to use OBS

yeah Google phased it out so people would use the new built in webcam streaming with YouTube

also, all serious streamers already use OBS or XSplit

that's pretty lame since the easiest way to do multicalls is with hangouts on air

I switched to Streamlabs OBS well over a year ago so I could simulcast to YouTube and Twitch

which saved my ass when I got a strike

yeah doing group calls with video is gonna have to be done with Skype now

and I hate Skype

it's such a bloated and unwieldy program

although this might cut down on the shitty video podcast livestreams

skype was messy when i used it with OBS but it did work

that's in part why I want a new computer: my current computer probably isn't going to be able to handle the load of running Skype and OBS simultaneously

i've never tried the other OBS forks, but i like the studio feature in OG OBS

I was having problems with OBS before I added more RAM and bought an SSD

and now I'm having problems again

I can't window stream properly anymore, for example

you'll notice whenever I'm showing the browser on a stream that it freezes or turns black sometimes

the computer i used for that call was a 2011 dell desktop with an i3 and 4 GB of RAM but something that helps lower the CPU usage is i installed a video card with NVENC support so the CPU does not encode the video

that's because I have to have the browser window front and center in order for it to work, meaning I can't show something on the browser AND look at chat/Super Chats/Streamlabs tips at the same time

that started happening in the past month

if you still use Win7 having an aero glass theme with the see through windows makes OBS work a lot better
