Zeitgeist Eater hosts his archive project over a dark net called Freenet (it's basically the deep web (I know the term's not accurate but fuck it everyone will know what the term deep web means)). So I am basically downloading this content from a notoriously slower version of the Internet, so it shouldn't really come as a surprise to me.
It's 11:19PM, I usually go to sleep earlier than this, but this download is gonna keep me up and checking my computer until it's done.
Should I just do this in the morning instead of rn?

Btw sorry if I'm creating a wall of text.
Freenet...
What?
Just curious... How many usefull stuff can I find there?
Oh, I thought you found the name of it cringey or something.
Uhh... I haven't checked out Freenet much. In my experience it is a shit ton slower than other dark nets like Tor and ZeroNet.
Freenet definitely looks like the most primitive aesthetically.
Looks like 90's/early 2000's era type of design tbh.
Actually I have found a few interesting things there.
Like?
Oh wait this is an index.
Wait there are games on this index?
The fuck?
Okay the games section looks very barren of detail.
Hrnn
God damn it this is so slow.
It'd probably be faster if there were other people downloading it.
What is it for
What do you mean?
What are you downloading.
Oh yeah, knowing dark nets there are probably a few libraries scattered around.
I'm downloading a video of a MGTOW channel that got purged a few years ago.
By a guy called No Holds Barred.
Ah gotcha
But the only way I know of to get the videos rn is via a dark net called Freenet.
Which is slow as shit.
For refence the video I'm downloading is **17.7MiB**.
That is like less than 20MB.
It's tiny.
And I've been downloading this for over 10 or 15 minutes.
Slow as a snail.
Hm..... What are the best apps to download YT videos? Without using YT premium, of course
There's 4K Video Downloader, Content Archiver, youtube-dl.
I use Content Archiver (custom made program for the archive project) because it archives the metadata, thumbnails, descriptions and embeds it all into the video itself.
Or you can use the fucktons of online web sites to download videos.
But tons of those also have viruses and pop ups.
Yeah, those virus and pop ups are a pain
I would shout out the guy who made Content Archiver for me but I don't remember if he's ever given me permission to credit him.
