> while atheist on average on more likely to be promiscuous for women and obese across the sexes
@RandomDiscordAccount completely incorrect

2020-04-26 21:18:15 UTC

there are general trends to be observed

2020-04-26 21:18:42 UTC

And I still don't understand how obesity even corelates to atheism, that's just stupid

2020-04-26 21:19:16 UTC

> there are general trends to be observed
@RandomDiscordAccount i'll repeat. You don't have any idea about the average atheist because most of them don't flaunt it

2020-04-26 21:19:41 UTC

You think that the average atheist is a liberal vegan gender fluid person

2020-04-26 21:19:54 UTC

That's the mental image you've created

2020-04-26 21:20:03 UTC

And it's completely wrong

2020-04-26 21:20:18 UTC

no, i think the average atheist can be assessed through representative sample sizes in academic studies

2020-04-26 21:20:32 UTC

you havent read any of the articles i posted, hm?

2020-04-26 21:20:48 UTC

Show me any actual studies that justify your claims

2020-04-26 21:20:51 UTC

Not articles

2020-04-26 21:21:01 UTC

Actual scientifical studies

2020-04-26 21:21:16 UTC

okay sure, pew research is basically the gold standard when it comes to survey studie

2020-04-26 21:21:26 UTC

look at the two articles for birth rate

2020-04-26 21:21:34 UTC

know ill prove the other two claims

2020-04-26 21:21:39 UTC

Show me how atheism corelates to obesity

2020-04-26 21:22:09 UTC

A survey is different from a scientific study

2020-04-26 21:22:16 UTC

😑

2020-04-26 21:22:23 UTC

"We examine four dimensions of religiosity (attendance, salience, media practice, and consolation) and religious affiliation. Ordinary least squares regression analyses reveal that high levels of religious media practice are associated with higher BMI in women. Logistic regression analyses reveal that high levels of religious media practice and affiliation with a Baptist denomination increased the risk of obesity for women, but that a high level of religious consolation reduced the risk of obesity incidence for men. Attendance at religious services was associated with a lower risk of the incidence of obesity for women, suggesting the importance of studying links between dimensions of religious life and body weight."

2020-04-26 21:22:34 UTC

3 out of the 4 factors correlate with lower obesity

2020-04-26 21:23:04 UTC

What was the number of people in this study?

2020-04-26 21:23:19 UTC

@Deleted User bro, survey studies can be scientific

2020-04-26 21:23:25 UTC

political science is a thing

2020-04-26 21:23:41 UTC

And again, if you use some common sense, you will see it's bullshit because atheists are as diverse as they come

2020-04-26 21:24:02 UTC

Lots of ways to manipulate a survey

2020-04-26 21:24:24 UTC

Statistics are easy to manipulate and derive results which confirm your biases

2020-04-26 21:24:34 UTC

diversity doesnt contradict general trends

2020-04-26 21:24:38 UTC

That's why it is hard to do a real scientific study

2020-04-26 21:24:39 UTC

but here, i can find others

2020-04-26 21:24:59 UTC

You don't get my point

2020-04-26 21:25:34 UTC

"Results are based on telephone interviews conducted as part of the Gallup-Healthways Well-Being Index survey Jan. 2-July 28, 2010, with a random sample of 554,066 adults, aged 18 and older, living in all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia, selected using random-digit-dial sampling."

2020-04-26 21:25:36 UTC

Leave the fucking studies, tell me how are someone's religious beliefs going to make them fat?

2020-04-26 21:25:52 UTC

Again another survey

2020-04-26 21:26:01 UTC

Just answer my question

2020-04-26 21:26:04 UTC

the previous one was epidemiology

2020-04-26 21:26:33 UTC

its correlative that same casual reasons why someone would self label as an atheist is the same casual reasons as to why someone is more likely to be fat

2020-04-26 21:27:04 UTC

Elaborate

2020-04-26 21:27:15 UTC

correlation does not mean direct causation but it necessitates common causation

2020-04-26 21:27:18 UTC

How are they even remotely related

2020-04-26 21:28:57 UTC

ill explain. Someone who self labels as atheist usually abstains from religious community events. We expect that to be the end of it but what we find is that those abstain from religious community events are more likely to abstain from all community gatherings.
