UK report on Russian interference in the West
For anyone who watches this video, Slate Star Codex is a tech blog mostly. He writes about science, tech, the environment and sometimes politics where he goes into details. He is not someone that is far right at all. He has a wide range of readers who are far-left, far right, in the middle and everything else.
New York Times contacted the blog owner (Scott), wanting to write a story on his blog about how he had "got some things about coronavirus right early on". Basically claiming it was going to be a good story on the blog. Then the journalist told Scott that he had found out his real name and was going to put it in the story. Scott said he wished for anonymity for plenty of good reasons and the NYT journalist said "New York Times policy to include real names, and he couldn’t change that."
From what I've saw, NYT picks and chooses whos real names they put in their stories. There have been plenty where they do not discuss the individuals names and there have been plenty where they openly doxx an individual. This must either be a new rule or they are lying. In my honest opinion, and not falling to far into conspiracy theory territory they wanted to doxx Scott because while his blog is more of a center leaning blog he has still been critical of the Social Justice movement (such as their bullying tactics), culture war etc. He has brought up IQ differences. He also allows anyone to comment as long as they follow the rules so that his blog doesn't become an echo-chamber. He has received death threats over this so it's clear there are people that have issue with it. Scott himself has mentioned in his blog being silenced a few times from fear of some of these threats. I think NYT has taken issue as well with him, and are using this "good story" excuse as a way to doxx him because his blog is very popular.
Even if that isn't the case, I think there is a real problem with big news organizations being allowed legally to just doxx anyone they feel fit to get clicks. The Slate Star Codex overall has handled things perfectly well with contacting NYT about this issue but I'm sure we will see articles of bad faith later about how reasonable and polite messages that they have received constitute a "storm of harassment". I'm sure as well that once they write that "good story" about Scott they will phrase Scott's writing in a culture war sense.
Recently they threatened Tucker Carlson with doxxing his home. I believe this to be true because all NYT has said on the matter is "does not plan to publish Tucker Carlson's residence" but they didn't deny that they weren't planning to doxx Tucker prior to Tucker Carlson's show calling them out. Tucker Carlson also named the names of the people that worked at NYT's that were threatening to release his address in an article piece. If the accusation was false, Tucker could be sued, so I doubt he would put himself in a position like that.

Trump's memo compares immigrants here illegally to tourists and those on business travel, and says they should not be counted as inhabitants.
>My Administration will not support giving congressional representation to aliens who enter or remain in the country unlawfully," Trump says in statement.
ACLU vows an immediate legal challenge.
Ice Cream and Popsicles is now racist.
Ice Cream is now racist and appropriating culture. Even though the origins of Ice Cream is either China, Mongolia or Rome and has been in most countries for a very long time.
Or are they saying food carts are appropriating their culture? Because the first food carts were in Rome & Greek.
It's almost like the people who complain loudest about something "being appropriated" don't really have a culture to begin with. 🤔
