macos up to 10.14 avialbe here
although it is no longer updated thanks to apple basicly trashing tons of stuff they need in catalina
im interested in the new m1 chip
not interested in it being arm tho
i am very impressed with it's effeciency, even with it needing to emulate x86 stuff
ive heard
it emulating x86 stuff
i hope someone manages to get linux on it, not a fan of macos myself
is sometimes faster than x86 running native
depends on which CPU you compare it to, but yeah its really impressive
I used to reallylike mac os
was a pretty good multitasking os
with the gestures but nowadays i think a lot of companies add that in
with their touchapds
the main problem i have with it now is apple constantly killing off support and breaking stuff, like catalina blocking 32bit apps cause apple said so
honeslty if my wife and i didnt play video games as much i probalby would use mac os full time
i'd do the same with linux, i run Manjaro on my laptop that i use for everything but games, which i run on a server/desktop at home
Im in my ubuntu vm pretty much 80% of the day
and then close it down to play video games
not to mention it would probably cost an arm and a leg to get something that could drive my 2 4k displays
for gaming? or just display output?
just display output
although i do game on them
oh i meant getting something mac that could drive 2 4k's
would cost an arm and a leg (i'm assuming)
M1 mac mini should be able to do it if you want the new ones, anything prior with any sort of displayports at all should also be capable of it
remember, their Type C usb are also displayports
for the m1 dual 4k it'l do one over thunderbolt and one over its HDMI 2.0
God Damn It

I havent had good luck with these 4K monitors over HDMI and USB Type C
The screen is noticeably more laggy
With a known good HDMI port, although I think I recently laerned one of the HDMI ports on these monitors does lower framerate so it might be that
@Evelyn S. 🇺🇸 - Have you tried with Boot Camp Assistant to install Windows 10?
I haven’t, but I’ve considered it. I want to avoid having to restart the computer each time depending on which OS I want to use but I might check it out again
normally don't post links but if you care about browsing privacy https://protonmail.com/blog/best-browser-for-privacy/?fbclid=IwAR1Q5NFUPStcGHpMIzk4EX3-KQwH4xaAjPPGMAORod6JK0e6D-m6xpeDuNk
Short terms:
Use:
1. Brave(Tied)
1. Firefox(tied)
3. Tor(will be the top if used VPN)
4. DuckDuckGo
Don't use:
Google Chrome
Nuc8 or no?
actually I think Searx is better than duckduckgo. try it out, you will be surprised I think.
i tried like 2 years ago Tor and did not liked it. seemed like a 2010 browser filled with spyware to me.
it's very slow, but very god at keeping you from being tracked
