In the new games it doesn’t effect them outside of battle, and in fact in some newer games you can take care of the Pokémon after battle to heal them of poison or paralysis

I love breloom, along w sylveon and lucario breloom is my favorite Pokémon

In the old games, you could heal them outside of battle too... you just need the right item or move.
