I guess I'd argue that it's a whole lot more empowering than being born with the Force. It also makes more sense thematically - if the Force connects and binds all living things, why restrict its use to certain people?
There's also the fact that George Lucas based it on Eastern mysticism and Judeo-christian beliefs. From what I've gathered, the Force is similar to the concept of Chi, which is regarded as sort of a spiritual "blood" that flows in all living things. (I think.) In a review of the new Mulan, a woman debunking it's "accuracies" pointed out that Mulan having "a lot of Chi" is like if the people said "Oh dang, she has a lot of blood!" because it's simply in everyone and doesn't denote anything special.
In Judeo-christian beliefs, anyone can do anything as long as they are chosen by God and allow God to do the work for them. That's why the Bible is filled with stories about shepherds, prostitutes, widows, weaklings, and even children - it teaches that God is the one supplying the power, not the person
When taking that stance, suddenly things like
- Luke firing a shot into the Death Star after flying a machine for the first time
- Anakin basically doing the same
- Rey winning a battle against a trained Sith lord
...all make sense. It's not them doing it, it's that they opened themselves up to the Force and the Force used them
Yeah, but it’s kind of like if everyone’s super then no one is super.
It kind of takes the magic out of the Force if everyone can use it. George Lucas even said that it's connected to everything, but only certain people can use it.
It's like how Finn is *a* Force sensitive, but he isn't Force Sensitive in the normal sense
True, but they're only super if...
1. The Force reaches out to them
2. They choose to accept it
So in that sense, it is a chosen deal, but it still makes it so that the Force could hypothetically choose anyone as long as they are willing to let it guide them
Not a huge difference but an interesting one
Hmmm but what if its a witchcraft and its all a lie
Avatar the last airbenderdiscussion anyone
?
Sure its good but the best nick show is drake and josh. Chang my mind
Easy zuko redemption ark is some of if not the best character development ever
On top of the fact that it has great story good fight scenes and character development for so many other characters
And you don't get awesome official art like this for drake and josh
But drake and josh is way funnier than avatar and josh is Leagues better than soka
But avatar still has funny scenes and toph makes the so much better and where else would get like "hi zuko here"
The fact that they got Mark Hamill to voice Fire Lord Ozai is amazing
I think Mark Hamill has used voice work to over come the typecasting a lot of actors hey when they play a popular character type.
He didn't let himself get pigeon holed into being a star born super hero
I am watching the Roast of Donald Trump from 2011.
I just watched Frequency
Omgosh that was fantastic
Ben Shapiro with daily wire made a movie you can still watch free
anyone seen it?
I did it’s pretty good
You can skip like 15 min in to start movie
Also, Tyler Perry's "I Can Be Bad All By Myself" is actually pretty good
I'm shocked. As far as Christian films go, I actually really like it
The Tyler perry movie?
Yes! Terrible ending but wasn't half bad
I was expecting total garbage
It's bearable and I liked the characters
Made me laugh out loud a few times too
Ok so WandaVision is very similar to Pleasantville
Is that a good thing or bad
It’s not bad
