2021-01-12 04:07:43 UTC

They can be held legally liable due to lack of moderation standards.

2021-01-12 04:07:54 UTC

The one that addresses free speech online @busillis

2021-01-12 04:07:57 UTC

Been over this, even brought it as a question to Robert.

2021-01-12 04:09:25 UTC

2021-01-12 04:10:08 UTC

2021-01-12 04:10:15 UTC

No?

2021-01-12 04:10:24 UTC

Illegal content isn't protected by 230.

2021-01-12 04:10:51 UTC

He just developed the platform...

2021-01-12 04:11:22 UTC

2021-01-12 04:11:25 UTC

Which is why when people show illegal content on twitter, I tell them to report it to Twitter, or the police. The police will give Twitter a set period of time to remove the content before they're held liable for it.

2021-01-12 04:11:44 UTC

Usually 24 hours.

2021-01-12 04:11:57 UTC

@james j I don't see any video.

2021-01-12 04:13:45 UTC

Yeah the one I linked you @busillis

2021-01-12 04:14:27 UTC

Sent it in pms

2021-01-12 04:15:28 UTC

Yeah I've seen that a couple times.

2021-01-12 04:15:36 UTC

Maybe three

2021-01-12 04:16:17 UTC

Speech needs to be regulated by laws not by companies. @james j I don't give a crap if they're private companies or not.

2021-01-12 04:17:12 UTC

What is ILLEGAL content?

2021-01-12 04:24:00 UTC

@busillis there are no laws right now, so the company is all we have. Interestingly that would be closer (making new laws) to the boogeyman on the infringement of free speech than private companies

2021-01-12 04:24:12 UTC

Catering to their users

2021-01-12 04:24:19 UTC

looking like thought police Silk Road guy did nothing but collect monies. He had plausible deniability for anything that was being sold...

2021-01-12 04:26:26 UTC

Fuck those companies

2021-01-12 04:27:14 UTC

Nope. Hence why he went to jail. (For life, I believe?)

2021-01-12 04:28:00 UTC

2021-01-12 04:28:11 UTC

Kingpin charges, yep.

2021-01-12 04:28:28 UTC

Those companies designed these platforms to be like smoking crack @james j And now we’re gonna let them be the police

2021-01-12 04:28:40 UTC

Not too smart

2021-01-12 04:28:59 UTC

And don’t even try to say they didn’t know what they were doing

2021-01-12 04:30:35 UTC

another episode of White Boy Rick it seems...

2021-01-12 04:30:48 UTC

they must have proven that he knew.... it became such a well known fact. But he did not go to jail for the writing stuff, he went to jail for the actions that resulted from the communication

2021-01-12 04:31:02 UTC

Yep. My point exactly.

2021-01-12 04:31:18 UTC

You can be held liable if you allow illegal content to take place on your platform.

2021-01-12 04:31:41 UTC

Speaking of crack And corruption ... @ShittyKitty Where is the white boy Rick story

2021-01-12 04:32:07 UTC

2021-01-12 04:32:38 UTC

2021-01-12 04:32:56 UTC

But the 1A doesn't protect you from companies.

2021-01-12 04:33:10 UTC

Nor social consequence.
