In relation to Australians being armed: Not really. I mean, sure, there are guns, but there would be cities in the US that have more fire power than all citizens of Australia combined.

No, Australia's army is a bit of a joke. We have great soldiers but not anywhere near enough firepower.
Back in the 1990s Australia could only have sustained 8 minutes of defensive war before running out of ammo. We have improved since rhen, but not enough.

A relative of mine was saying how well of a job Andrew Cuomo and Bill deBlasio are doing with this health crisis and how they are taking the “wartime” leadership role very seriously. I told them that NY had been caught with their pants down. It was only two and a half weeks ago, NY government officials were telling their citizens to eat at restaurants and that the COVID19 threat was low. My relative dismissed it all together and said “I wasn’t paying attention during that time.”

It is very sad and frustrating to have loved ones be so blind to the truth and when the truth is presented to them as clear as day, they dismiss it altogether.
