Yep, received a similar email from my university’s president. He talked about how democracy prevailed at the end and we should continue to support each other in our communities. If any of us need counselling services or further support from friends and family to not be afraid to reach out. I cringed so hard.
Lol unfortunately they will probably refer me to a psychiatrist. During the BLM riots, well he called them protests, he also sent out similar emails saying how we should all stand together with these protesters and to contact certain staff members if any of us experience any sort of discrimination or racism from our peers.
The best part? We’re a Canadian institution. There’s so much stuff at this school he could try fixing and write emails about, but no, let’s spend time writing this generic email and tell students how they should be feeling about American politics.
It’s an orphan letter, ie the lawyer who wrote it hasn’t done anything else, so maybe he doesn’t even know that someone wrote that in his name. It’s not on legal paper, it’s a bad quality photo... Doubt prevails.
