*Cowers in fear*

2019-03-23 19:52:48 UTC

How do you guys read. Im a noob at it

2019-03-23 19:53:05 UTC

Well, I start by collecting some form of written content.

2019-03-23 19:53:22 UTC

And then, because it's english, I usually start from top left and go right until the end before going down.

2019-03-23 19:53:40 UTC

Once I reach the bottom right, I go to the next section and start over.

2019-03-23 19:54:25 UTC

And then I'll do that a few dozen to a few hundred times.

2019-03-23 19:54:43 UTC

The issue is retaining everything and not getting distracted

2019-03-23 19:55:03 UTC

You never retain *everything* on one read through, unless you're a savant.

2019-03-23 19:55:11 UTC

that’s not woke enough, just skim for interesting words and let your mind figure out the rest

2019-03-23 19:55:13 UTC

Ive never been one to stay glued to the pages

2019-03-23 19:55:32 UTC

Then you're not actually interested in the content. It doesn't somehow relate to you.

2019-03-23 19:55:40 UTC

you’ll interpolate the sentences and can read faster that way

2019-03-23 19:56:13 UTC

Reiatsu coming in here with lv20 techniques for a lv1 reader.

2019-03-23 19:56:34 UTC

This boi can't even stick to a single page and he's trying to teach him to read through hundreds of pages in half an hour.

2019-03-23 19:56:34 UTC

am big brained nibba

2019-03-23 19:56:47 UTC

Hmm...there are learning strategies to retain more information. Most of these require visualizing the content and making it very extravagant.

2019-03-23 19:57:07 UTC

Yeah, the... memory castle or whatever.

2019-03-23 19:57:18 UTC

I think ill start slow, read a few pages

2019-03-23 19:57:19 UTC

I use the helipad in Metal Gear Solid for my memory castle.

2019-03-23 19:57:34 UTC

memory palace, I think it is.

2019-03-23 19:58:01 UTC

Also, apparently, called method of loci, if you're a pretension douche nozzle.

2019-03-23 19:58:04 UTC

readings hard when you’re an npc with no internal monologue

2019-03-23 19:58:08 UTC

@Revel reading with your eyes isn't efficient and you become tired from it. Instead work your way up listening to audiobooks at 3x speed on audible

A part of the track where the self driving cars drive

2019-03-23 19:58:42 UTC

Apple?

2019-03-23 19:58:50 UTC

Yeah

2019-03-23 19:59:05 UTC

They brought 3d mappers on site yesterday for the track

2019-03-23 19:59:21 UTC

Truck with a bunch of cameras on a spinning device on the roof

2019-03-23 19:59:21 UTC

Cool. Do you think they can compete with waymo and Tesla?

2019-03-23 19:59:26 UTC

Nice

2019-03-23 19:59:34 UTC

Yeah it's a device not an actual car

2019-03-23 19:59:40 UTC

To turn normal cars into self driving

2019-03-23 20:00:10 UTC

I know. Apple is quite secretive with their developments though. I'm curious if it works well

2019-03-23 20:00:21 UTC

interesting

2019-03-23 20:02:05 UTC

Its finally happening

2019-03-23 20:02:18 UTC

We knew automated cars were coming.

2019-03-23 20:02:36 UTC

I remember reading about it in an exclopidia in the 90s as a kid
