Frankfurt School was a niche thing that had no influence in Europe.
italians kept coming to America in huge waves (because we were building cities with the postWW1 boom $) and trying to blow us up like once a week because Europe was developing unironic classwar fedpost-leftism.
we entered ww2 while also trying to stop actual not-cringe class war and the OSS (later becomes MI6 and CIA) recruited the Frankfurt guys into their office with a deal that they would disrupt and dissolve leftism through academia after we won the war, using what's called the "Progressive Stack" (oppression based rhetoric)
