they dont really slide

2020-11-12 19:01:56 UTC

it's the difference between dusting once a month and twice a month really

2020-11-12 19:02:02 UTC

they are not slidey in the slightest

2020-11-12 19:02:13 UTC

then yeah you're probably just fine

2020-11-12 19:02:23 UTC

it's not gonna be any sort of danger

2020-11-12 19:02:35 UTC

I know people who have run their desktops just on carpet floor for years

2020-11-12 19:02:48 UTC

they had to dust all the time but it never like arced static and blew up

2020-11-12 19:02:58 UTC

Step one. Cover the pc in oil

2020-11-12 19:03:06 UTC
2020-11-12 19:03:08 UTC

parents insisting i put tablecloth on new desk

2020-11-12 19:03:11 UTC

so

2020-11-12 19:03:15 UTC

thanks anyway

2020-11-12 19:03:18 UTC

yeah you'll be fine and I don't blame them

2020-11-12 19:03:19 UTC
2020-11-12 19:03:33 UTC

I've only ever had one electrical mishap with a PC

2020-11-12 19:03:49 UTC
2020-11-12 19:04:10 UTC

NZXT did not label the polarity of a wire that could be plugged in backwards

2020-11-12 19:04:38 UTC

it shorted and melted the wire

2020-11-12 19:04:53 UTC

@kawaii did u try turning it off and on

2020-11-12 19:05:00 UTC

funny thing

2020-11-12 19:05:08 UTC

my dad was insisting that he smelled burning plastic

2020-11-12 19:05:13 UTC

so I turned it off

2020-11-12 19:05:22 UTC

inspected it, found nothing, plugged it back in

2020-11-12 19:05:28 UTC

and WOOSH, sparks and smoke

2020-11-12 19:05:45 UTC

How much money did u waste

2020-11-12 19:05:56 UTC

Father knows best

2020-11-12 19:06:02 UTC

$30 on shipping

2020-11-12 19:06:13 UTC

@kawaii how much u know about PCs

2020-11-12 19:06:28 UTC

NZXT sent me a new case with a labeled wire but I had to pay to ship it back

2020-11-12 19:06:42 UTC

I know enough to get by

2020-11-12 19:07:01 UTC

I plugged my 3 pin Aio pump into a 4 pin

2020-11-12 19:07:06 UTC

Is that fine

2020-11-12 19:07:25 UTC

is the header you plugged it into labeled pump or opt or whatever?

2020-11-12 19:07:28 UTC

Aio pump

2020-11-12 19:07:33 UTC

Idk

2020-11-12 19:07:59 UTC

usually they'll have little print on the board like "CPU fan" "case fan 1" "case fan 2" "CPU/opt" "AIO pump"

2020-11-12 19:08:02 UTC

depends on make and model

2020-11-12 19:08:22 UTC

if you can give me a model number I *probably* can look up a picture and tell you exactly which header it'd go to

2020-11-12 19:08:33 UTC

No it just has like fan 1 and fan 2

2020-11-12 19:08:50 UTC

if you check the mobo software sometimes you'll see the device registering in the wrong slot, but usually it's okay

2020-11-12 19:08:59 UTC

then tbh I'd plug the AIO pump into the CPU fan header
