how dangerous is static
from it
not *really* the case is effectively your ground in that circuit so as long as you were touching the case you'd be safe
and the feet on the case would isolate the metal so it's not like it'd build up in the case then arc over
my friend said this
nah the only concerns are dust and clumsiness
i dont care about dust
really
well i mean sure i dont want it
if those rubber feet are on top of a tablecloth that can slide around, you're in trouble if you ever have an unfortunate situation
but like im more worried if somethign will break it
they dont really slide
it's the difference between dusting once a month and twice a month really
they are not slidey in the slightest
then yeah you're probably just fine
it's not gonna be any sort of danger
I know people who have run their desktops just on carpet floor for years
they had to dust all the time but it never like arced static and blew up
Step one. Cover the pc in oil
parents insisting i put tablecloth on new desk
so
thanks anyway
yeah you'll be fine and I don't blame them
I've only ever had one electrical mishap with a PC
NZXT did not label the polarity of a wire that could be plugged in backwards
it shorted and melted the wire
funny thing
my dad was insisting that he smelled burning plastic
so I turned it off
inspected it, found nothing, plugged it back in
and WOOSH, sparks and smoke
How much money did u waste
Father knows best
$30 on shipping
NZXT sent me a new case with a labeled wire but I had to pay to ship it back
