"In seeking employment you are usually asked for former job references. If you know that some of them will be negative DON’T LIST THEM! For the resulting “gaps” in your employment history, have already prepared the names and addresses of your former “employers”. They could be local or out-of-state, in which case they probably won’t be verified except by mail. Of course you will be prepared for this by listing a mail forwarding service’s address as that of your former “employer”.
