I know that feeling

2019-05-01 00:57:03 UTC

The guilt was from all the drinking. I started drinking after Iraq, and just kept right on with it after I got out.

2019-05-01 00:57:20 UTC

Was up to about a liter of vodka/day at my worst

2019-05-01 00:57:34 UTC

PTSD?

2019-05-01 00:57:37 UTC

I still held down a job and made academic honors in school

2019-05-01 00:57:47 UTC

Yeah, and some other stuff

2019-05-01 00:58:05 UTC

The military is still the worlds leading producer of functioning alcoholics

2019-05-01 00:58:08 UTC

But yeah, I felt guilty so I just paid off the debt.

2019-05-01 00:58:12 UTC

Haha, yup

2019-05-01 00:58:26 UTC

Been sober for nearly four years now.

2019-05-01 00:58:30 UTC

I don't miss it

2019-05-01 00:58:33 UTC

Good for you

2019-05-01 00:58:53 UTC

Thanks :D

2019-05-01 00:59:32 UTC

I come from a long line of criminals and addicts.

2019-05-01 00:59:45 UTC

Dont we all?

2019-05-01 01:01:03 UTC

It seems that way sometimes, especially once one can spot the disfunction. I meet alcoholics all the time, who haven't even realized yet that the hook is set. C'est la vie.

2019-05-01 01:01:41 UTC

What did you do in the God-emperor's army?

2019-05-01 01:01:52 UTC

I was communications

2019-05-01 01:02:05 UTC

Comms guy huh

2019-05-01 01:02:20 UTC

When I joined, the mos designation was 31u, but was changed to 25u after a couple years in

2019-05-01 01:02:23 UTC

Yeah

2019-05-01 01:02:32 UTC

I liked the work

2019-05-01 01:02:32 UTC

I worked in Operations. To be specific I worked in CIC.

2019-05-01 01:02:54 UTC

I'm guess that's our version of a TOC

2019-05-01 01:03:12 UTC

How long were you in?

2019-05-01 01:03:30 UTC

Tactical Operation Coordinator? I dont speak Army

2019-05-01 01:03:36 UTC

9 years, 3 months

2019-05-01 01:04:40 UTC

Nah, it's basically just a command room, really. It might be different by the division, but it's where command for our flight operations was located.

2019-05-01 01:04:50 UTC

Signal, intelligence and flight ops

2019-05-01 01:04:56 UTC

Fairly similar.

2019-05-01 01:06:19 UTC

CIC is the brain of the ship. We track contacts, assist (ie; do the navigators work for them) in navigation, plan engagement of hostile contacts and other things besides.

2019-05-01 01:06:56 UTC

When there is nothing going on it's boring as fuck, when shits happening - your the eye of the storm

2019-05-01 01:07:20 UTC

Comms is a big thing too

2019-05-01 01:12:25 UTC

Yeah, sounds about right. Lot's of waiting, and then bursts of activity. I stayed pretty busy, mostly, but we had a fews day where things were pretty slow. My year in Iraq flew by, as did my three in Okinawa. I loved it over there, but fucking hated my unit. Most of them had never deployed, and it seemed more like glorified boy scouts. I turned the recruitment officer down and went on my merry

2019-05-01 01:15:18 UTC

I'm about to pick up a van, convert the interior and live out of that while I save money. There's lots of cheap land down south and in the midwest. And some counties don't have building codes, so I won't have to worry about some governmental busybody telling me what I can and can't build.

2019-05-01 01:20:57 UTC

Sounds good

2019-05-01 01:36:07 UTC

I, as a right proppa Ork, will kill all those gitz callin themselves orcs in Skyrim

2019-05-01 01:40:13 UTC

What is CIC? Command in Conquest?

2019-05-01 02:43:59 UTC

Sup.

2019-05-01 02:44:04 UTC

I just watched Replicas.

2019-05-01 02:44:10 UTC

It was mediocre. Don't pay much for it.
