you know that majority of atheists were former religious people right?
of course
and more often than not, they were the more devout ones that really checked out the religion itself, learned more about it
and then the more they learned about it, the more bullshit they find
and eventually they just drop it
when I escaped, my world was basically shattered
like my whole life was a lie
exactly
but as long as you dont lose yourself, its not a big deal
same
you can find it in yourself to be your own solid ground
not god
not anything else
you yourself
but those that lose themselves can use religion as a temporary base
that's probably why I easily accepted mgtow lol, without going through red pill rage
Living a lie is a necessity of the human experience
I would suggest getting over it
why thank you
Perhaps hmmm...The unapologetic manner in which you state that you can be your own foundation.
That the base of yourself can be yourself. Nothing less, nothing more.
All too often people rely on external anchors, but the external is always undependable. It can change in an instant, always in flux, perpetually in the shadow of chaos.
But the self, even if it can change and should change, is an anchor that no one can take from you, unless you let them.
@Valk your giving people far too much credit
in my opinion
do explain 😮
@shadowlessnexus that was my whole point
@Ironbard great to hear someone else agree with my point :P
and you even explained it better than I did haha
if people are so stupid they cant figure out how to do simple things in an age where google is right there. do you really think they are gonna be smart enough to figure out religion? we are the freaks remember. not the normal ones.
also @Nawalter Jizney meo
w
there
good point shadow
I mean, I feel like a lot of people do have doubts
its just that they hide it
they're all half way there and couldn't bear to break away, because it would mean that their whole life has been a lie
the older they are, the less likely it is for them to break away
loss aversion
sunk cost fallacy
yea, they invested way too much to back out now kind of thing
hold on a sec
they arent smart enough to figure it out. we live in an age where knowledge is so plentiful and easy to find. yet most people have no idea what the constitution is
