you know that majority of atheists were former religious people right?

2019-05-04 15:34:39 UTC

of course

2019-05-04 15:34:48 UTC

and more often than not, they were the more devout ones that really checked out the religion itself, learned more about it

2019-05-04 15:34:55 UTC

and then the more they learned about it, the more bullshit they find

2019-05-04 15:34:58 UTC

and eventually they just drop it

2019-05-04 15:35:10 UTC

when I escaped, my world was basically shattered

2019-05-04 15:35:17 UTC

like my whole life was a lie

2019-05-04 15:35:31 UTC

exactly

2019-05-04 15:35:33 UTC

but as long as you dont lose yourself, its not a big deal

2019-05-04 15:35:33 UTC

same

2019-05-04 15:35:43 UTC

you can find it in yourself to be your own solid ground

2019-05-04 15:35:45 UTC

not god

2019-05-04 15:35:47 UTC

not anything else

2019-05-04 15:35:48 UTC

you yourself

2019-05-04 15:36:01 UTC

but those that lose themselves can use religion as a temporary base

2019-05-04 15:36:05 UTC

that's probably why I easily accepted mgtow lol, without going through red pill rage

2019-05-04 15:36:06 UTC

Living a lie is a necessity of the human experience

2019-05-04 15:36:21 UTC

I would suggest getting over it

2019-05-04 15:54:50 UTC

@Valk I like the way you think.

2019-05-04 15:55:16 UTC

why thank you

2019-05-04 15:55:24 UTC

which bit in particular?

2019-05-04 16:00:33 UTC

Perhaps hmmm...The unapologetic manner in which you state that you can be your own foundation.
That the base of yourself can be yourself. Nothing less, nothing more.
All too often people rely on external anchors, but the external is always undependable. It can change in an instant, always in flux, perpetually in the shadow of chaos.
But the self, even if it can change and should change, is an anchor that no one can take from you, unless you let them.

2019-05-04 16:09:19 UTC

@Valk your giving people far too much credit

2019-05-04 16:09:33 UTC

in my opinion

2019-05-04 16:09:59 UTC

do explain 😮

2019-05-04 16:10:01 UTC

@shadowlessnexus that was my whole point

2019-05-04 16:12:23 UTC

@Ironbard great to hear someone else agree with my point :P
and you even explained it better than I did haha

2019-05-04 16:12:50 UTC

if people are so stupid they cant figure out how to do simple things in an age where google is right there. do you really think they are gonna be smart enough to figure out religion? we are the freaks remember. not the normal ones.

w

2019-05-04 16:13:06 UTC

there

2019-05-04 16:13:07 UTC

good point shadow

2019-05-04 16:13:24 UTC

I mean, I feel like a lot of people do have doubts

2019-05-04 16:13:27 UTC

its just that they hide it

2019-05-04 16:13:45 UTC

they're all half way there and couldn't bear to break away, because it would mean that their whole life has been a lie

2019-05-04 16:13:52 UTC

the older they are, the less likely it is for them to break away

2019-05-04 16:14:10 UTC

loss aversion

2019-05-04 16:14:30 UTC

sunk cost fallacy

2019-05-04 16:14:43 UTC

yea, they invested way too much to back out now kind of thing

2019-05-04 16:15:09 UTC

hold on a sec

2019-05-04 16:15:22 UTC

they arent smart enough to figure it out. we live in an age where knowledge is so plentiful and easy to find. yet most people have no idea what the constitution is
