Animal farm was a good one. I haven't read 1984 though. I swear i bought a copy of it a long time ago but i don't have it anymore.

2019-06-11 23:59:50 UTC

I read Animal Farm.

2019-06-12 00:02:04 UTC

did it have animals

2019-06-12 00:02:06 UTC

It follows the bullshit narrative of power corrupts.

2019-06-12 00:02:10 UTC

Yes.

2019-06-12 00:02:15 UTC

Are you trolling, haku?

2019-06-12 00:03:36 UTC

Wasn't it also a biopic of ussr or something like that? I read it back in highschool and we had a huge discussion about all the hidden meanings in the story.

2019-06-12 00:03:37 UTC

Though, they were pigs, and pigs are absolute assholes by nature.

2019-06-12 00:03:50 UTC

You could make that case.

2019-06-12 00:04:11 UTC

My favorite and most memorable line was "All animals are equal. But some are more equal than others."

2019-06-12 00:06:39 UTC

But I also liked when they got back into business with humans and the animals couldn't tell the difference between the men and the pigs anymore.

2019-06-12 00:07:42 UTC

Hmm i guess i should read it again. I don't remember any of this. I just know it was a well written story.

2019-06-12 00:07:58 UTC

It was basically the life cycle of communism.

2019-06-12 00:08:06 UTC

So, yeah, you were right that it was talking about the ussr.

2019-06-12 00:08:22 UTC

All animals are equal

2019-06-12 00:08:30 UTC

but pigs are most equal

2019-06-12 00:09:08 UTC

All animals are equal
The carnivores eat the herbivores equally

2019-06-12 00:10:21 UTC

George Orwell was a curious guy.

2019-06-12 00:12:45 UTC

He was ahead of his time like Frank Herbert

2019-06-12 00:13:17 UTC

my mother's bitching at me over the laundry again 😐 🔫

2019-06-12 00:13:26 UTC

Frank Herbert was talking about the middle east.

2019-06-12 00:13:28 UTC

Spice is oil.

2019-06-12 00:13:39 UTC

Tell the bitch if she did the laundry right you wouldn't have to do it again

2019-06-12 00:13:42 UTC

Yes he was.

His story eventually evolved beyond that

2019-06-12 00:15:25 UTC

she wants to give me a lecture over every fuck up I make.

2019-06-12 00:15:33 UTC

So did writers like them predict the future? Coincidence that their stories turned out to be accurate? What's your guys' take?

2019-06-12 00:15:46 UTC

But when she fucks up it's "I didn't know, I'm sorry okay"

2019-06-12 00:16:00 UTC

Not so much predict the future as be social commentary on what was going on at the time.

2019-06-12 00:16:57 UTC

Okay. Yeah that's actually believable.

2019-06-12 00:17:57 UTC

However, prognostication about what current events can lead too isn't difficult if you understand history and human nature

2019-06-12 00:18:16 UTC

Yeah, that's true.

2019-06-12 00:23:09 UTC

Btw, speaking of Dune - who else is stoked for the 2020 remake?

2019-06-12 00:24:16 UTC

whats Dune

2019-06-12 00:24:28 UTC

I thought the reimagining done by scifi channel i think it was was pretty good. If a little low-budget/cheesy with the special effects. But yeah, I'd pay to see it the theater.

2019-06-12 00:24:31 UTC

NIGGA

2019-06-12 00:24:52 UTC

If he's truely a man on night mode he can't read

2019-06-12 00:24:56 UTC

Don't be so negative

2019-06-12 00:25:00 UTC

The scifi series was well done, very close to the books with some liberties taken
