So technically we all share dna
We branched off from a common ancestor. And for example, a chimpanzee has one DNA thing(forgot the name) difference between that of a human -> which is what causes them to be chimpanzees, and us to be humans
"Well, rather surprisingly, genes – the regions of DNA that code for proteins – only make up about 2% of your DNA. So sharing 50% of our genes with bananas means we only actually share 1% of our DNA with them – not 50."
DNA and genes aren't the same thing
I'm not talking about genes
I'm talking about dna
We don't share 50% dna we share 50% genes
Sauce?
We might need a new channel for this conversation <:Surprised_pikachu:726878373762301995>

lol i bet you just looked at the name and just went "nah not gonna read it"
Would be better
I read it. Did you not see that I even quoted it earlier when you posted it
I don't have much to add but I think they did find an organism that doesn't need water to survive. Maybe it was oxygen.
Yes, they have found a few
you didn't see my quote
they also gave multiple different sources as well
i went back and looked and didn't see a quote
you eat it because you share dna with it? xD
Genes are made of DNA, so if we match 50% genes we match at LEAST 50% dna
genes and dna aren't the same thing
Thats not what i said
dna is made up of genes from what i understand
I said Genes are made of DNA, so if we match 50% genes we match at LEAST 50% dna
Opposite @Meryl.140.15
Genes are made from dna
you read the article?
Yes
And again, Genes are made of DNA, so if we match 50% genes we match at LEAST 50% dna
that's not what hte article says at all
Ok.
1 sec
cripes. so this is the #notingeneralkansasanymore spoken of in legend
So you're counting other dna that has nothing to do with anything genetic. Which is the 50% we said right?
I think I'm just confused now. Too much circle talk. Can't keep it straight. Maybe people in the <#733947969765769237> room can help.
I dont think I can
i was gonna say i dont think either of us know enough about dna to really debate it lol
