kk

2020-12-17 23:26:35 UTC

they had a similar reaction in the winter war, waking up one day and thinking shiiiiiiiit we should just send a massive force through the Karelian isthmus

2020-12-17 23:26:57 UTC

Yeah

2020-12-17 23:27:21 UTC

The bt-7s in Finland were the reason we have my favourite tank now

2020-12-17 23:27:24 UTC

The bt-42

2020-12-17 23:27:56 UTC

So some good came out of the soviet unions invasion attempts of Finland during ww2 lpl

2020-12-17 23:27:59 UTC

Lol*

2020-12-17 23:27:59 UTC

noice, I don't care as much about tanks, I prefer boats, big boats

2020-12-17 23:28:20 UTC

Bismarck be like *"bruh"*

2020-12-17 23:28:44 UTC

Lol, the Tirpitz is my favorite, she's slightly better than Bismarck

2020-12-17 23:29:11 UTC

Did she also get killed by biplanes?

2020-12-17 23:30:29 UTC

Cuz if not then I ain't gonna look into her lol

2020-12-17 23:30:53 UTC

I don't know, but she was thinner and was a slightly upgraded version of Bismark, I can't remember how she died off the top of my head

2020-12-17 23:31:10 UTC

Oof

2020-12-17 23:31:17 UTC

But I mean

2020-12-17 23:31:36 UTC

The Bismarck and her sisters were all pretty much too big to be useful

2020-12-17 23:31:52 UTC

The char 2 c reaction is what I call it

2020-12-17 23:32:01 UTC

But you can call it what you want

2020-12-17 23:33:17 UTC

They were too big, but had they been properly escorted they could've survived and done much more damage to the Royal Navy, had the Prinz Eugen not gotten damaged and have other escort cruisers and destroyers with the Bismark then she would've survived

2020-12-17 23:33:43 UTC

That is true

2020-12-17 23:34:11 UTC

And had you have a battalion of panzer 3s and 4s escorting a maus it could also be super effective

2020-12-17 23:34:30 UTC

But you really just dont

2020-12-17 23:34:35 UTC

They're too big

2020-12-17 23:34:45 UTC

It's a waste of resources

2020-12-17 23:34:57 UTC

Of course I understand the position the germans were in

2020-12-17 23:35:11 UTC

Where they couldn't just throw steel at the enemy and hope they win

2020-12-17 23:35:15 UTC

Tanks are a bit different though, they have to deal with terrain difficulties of being too big, ships are just a bigger target and require more crew

2020-12-17 23:35:35 UTC

Oh

2020-12-17 23:35:52 UTC

Cuz I've heard that tanks and ships are extremely similar in that regard

2020-12-17 23:35:55 UTC

And being slower, way slower

2020-12-17 23:36:52 UTC

I mean yeah

2020-12-17 23:36:58 UTC

Well of course bigger isn't always better, that's why cruisers can still take out battleships, cause bigger ship doesn't equal better ship. But with terrain you just have to keep it out of shallow watter and away from icebergs

2020-12-17 23:37:12 UTC

But I'm sure the technicalities and over all ideas are the same

2020-12-17 23:37:29 UTC

After all the tank was invented by the land ships committee

2020-12-17 23:37:54 UTC

yeah

2020-12-17 23:38:25 UTC

But yeah

2020-12-17 23:38:56 UTC

Theres a reason battleships are going out of fashion and a reason why the mbt idea was created

2020-12-17 23:39:44 UTC

It's better to have a well rounded vehicle which is okay at everything than it is to have a vehicle that is amazing at one thing

2020-12-17 23:40:24 UTC

Somebody should make a fallout special book for tanks lol

2020-12-17 23:40:56 UTC

Of course we have the triangle of tank design

2020-12-17 23:41:03 UTC

But it's just not the same
