The Bismarck and her sisters were all pretty much too big to be useful

They were too big, but had they been properly escorted they could've survived and done much more damage to the Royal Navy, had the Prinz Eugen not gotten damaged and have other escort cruisers and destroyers with the Bismark then she would've survived

And had you have a battalion of panzer 3s and 4s escorting a maus it could also be super effective

But you really just dont

They're too big

It's a waste of resources

Of course I understand the position the germans were in

Where they couldn't just throw steel at the enemy and hope they win

Tanks are a bit different though, they have to deal with terrain difficulties of being too big, ships are just a bigger target and require more crew

Cuz I've heard that tanks and ships are extremely similar in that regard

And being slower, way slower

Well of course bigger isn't always better, that's why cruisers can still take out battleships, cause bigger ship doesn't equal better ship. But with terrain you just have to keep it out of shallow watter and away from icebergs

But I'm sure the technicalities and over all ideas are the same

Theres a reason battleships are going out of fashion and a reason why the mbt idea was created

It's better to have a well rounded vehicle which is okay at everything than it is to have a vehicle that is amazing at one thing
