2020-11-08 19:00:39 UTC

You can implement some socialist things (that never work well) but going full socialism never works

2020-11-08 19:01:07 UTC

also it's easy for them to pay for welfare when they don't have to worry about military defense since the US is paying for them and protecting them

2020-11-08 19:01:25 UTC

@Innocentsmith S.C.A umm... We have to pay to keep up the mandatory service, also the public healthcare and public schools are pretty socialist. Also a 60% tax for 150k+ is pretty socialist.

2020-11-09 20:31:13 UTC

Tho we have a free market so it isnt full on socialism

2020-11-10 02:14:27 UTC

ok, but pure capitilism is bad too, change my mind

2020-11-10 02:16:27 UTC

Well, what is pure capitalism to you. Now that's the question...

2020-11-10 13:59:35 UTC

@Superkana2006
Public schools are NOT socialism. Who ever started that idea has no idea what socialism is. Public healthcare is only socialism IF the government owns the means of providing care, as in government owned and operated hospitals. Socialism is the government OWNERSHIP of the means of production. Social programs are NOT socialism, never have been.

2020-11-10 14:16:29 UTC

@little hollow capitilism without resstraint, such as workers rights, minimum wage, etc

2020-11-10 15:35:50 UTC

I think we could deal with and exist with pure capitalism if everyone were perfect, but that isn't the case. For the first time, I think I actually agree with lol. (Just messing, we've agreed on other things before....right? lol)

2020-11-10 15:37:04 UTC

But do you think the minimum wage should be raised?

2020-11-10 15:42:47 UTC

if the minimum wage is raised, renting, mortage and your personal taxes increases

2020-11-10 15:42:58 UTC

at the end you dont see that "raise"

2020-11-10 16:42:20 UTC

capitilism without resstraint, such as workers rights, minimum wage, etc
@chaz
Capitalism without restraint is self-limiting, outside interference causes the issues. Outside interference is things like a minimum wage, which either raises prices or reduces employment. There is no other outcome for an increase in minimum wage. Workers rights are also self-limiting when workers care about themselves. If everyone refuses to work for "those" places, then "those" places will have to modify their business model or go out of business.

2020-11-10 16:44:02 UTC

@Gio funny, because every time it has been raise the poverty levels went down, and the lower class became on average more wealthy, also By the way, our minimum wage is not tied to inflation, which is really bad

2020-11-10 16:51:59 UTC

i dont believe that for a sec, now consider how many business owners can afford to pay that "raise", if they cant what would u think it would happen? wink-wink few ppl gonna lose their jobs and for sure that doesnt help at all to reduce poverty levels

2020-11-10 16:53:38 UTC

they could pay that same "raise" 40 years ago when our economy was weaker, I am not sking for higher minimum wage, all I am asking for is minimu wage to be tied to inflation

2020-11-10 16:55:37 UTC

> @Gio funny, because every time it has been raise the poverty levels went down, and the lower class became on average more wealthy
@chaz Poverty levels are a manufactured level that is based on an arbitrary income level. The lower classes did NOT become more "WEALTHY", they simply had more INCOME. There is a vast difference. Their income went up, so did their outgo eventually as the cost of products followed the increase in costs of manufacture. Minimum wage either increases prices or reduces employment, there is NO other result.

2020-11-10 16:56:26 UTC

the issue with raising the minimum wage is that for 1, an increase of wages forces a small comapny would have to increase the price of their products to match the rising wages, which if the small company cant afford to raise the price of their goods to pay their workers, there would be layoffs so that the company can afford to pay to pay the workers they have left, but if the sales from their goods still cant keep up the company will eventually fail and everyone loses their jobs

2020-11-10 16:56:36 UTC

ok, so we should stick with the minimum wage passed by our goverment, right?

2020-11-10 16:57:04 UTC

we should eliminate a minimum wage entirely.

2020-11-10 16:57:11 UTC

A company should give their employees raises when they see they are able to.

2020-11-10 16:57:33 UTC

That doesn't mean all will.

2020-11-10 16:57:34 UTC

i dont believe the goverment should decide the minimun wage is tho, let the market decided
