Well Cal Fire had to make a jugement call and gave their professional opinion, it was dangerous and they didn't want to risk any of their rescue personel, thats what makes them (army) heroes

it becomes a fustercluck when you have to rescue the rescue personel

any natural brush/tree fires will produce light grey smoke, oil or other heavy carbon fire will produce black smoke, yet skies are red....maybe from all that dye they sprayed during the last fire as a retardant
