But the government doesn’t have say in matters
Its the definition of a conflict of interest.
How does the government not have a say, but have control over funding?
Like, would you trust North Korean news network if they said "the government has no decision power over what we publish"?
No, because NK is a authoritarian dictatorship
Canada is still a free democracy
So maybe this is a cultural misunderstanding. People in America have issues with PBS because it is government programming. You don't trust it because if it came time to report things about your government, you're considered distrustful. The only thing you can base your trust of them on is the articles/product they publish.
So my point with the double standard when it comes to Epoch Times vs CBC.
No no
I still don’t trust articles about the gov by the CBC
But when it comes to general news I trust them
oh yes... state approved news... desensitization... hopeless cause
and china still persists 32 years later....
But Epoch Times’ goal is to talk shit about the CCP
So I don’t trust their judgement
Just like I wouldn’t trust CBC with issues about the gov here
many others do as well... just not lamestream
But in general news, why would you not judge the work and not the association? That is the double standard.
I don’t mind the Epoch times when it comes to Non-Chinese reporting (if they have any)
But it’s when they clearly try to portray there reality
That’s where I stop giving them that ground
you have no idea what the Epoch Times writes about... you just are triggered by your bias
I’m saying I don’t trust their Chinese reporting because they clearly have bias against them
I don’t think that’s too outlandish
perhaps it is only your opinion that is has a bias
Dude I hate the CCP as much as the next guy
But like I said, I don’t want my info coming from clearly biased media sources
what is untrue that you object to
But earlier, you said this: https://discord.com/channels/707691030748594288/783093969071898724/796098681907445772.
I think from this, people would interpret this as guilt by association and not just careful assessment of news.
Careful assessment of the type of news*
I object with the idea that this is recent news. A similar article was released months before on CNN, so I believe it was strategically released now for some sort of motive
https://www.theepochtimes.com/
Check out a few stories and let me know anything that is false or misleading
Like if the initial thing was, "I don't trust Epoch times reporting on CCP news because they are funded by people trying to take them down." I'd get it. But that's not what was initially said.
it was reported by many outlets... in the last day
Sorry I’m not giving them my email
But this
“The CCP virus”
That’s said better than I did then
What's wrong with calling it the ccp virus? They have gone out there way to hide its origins. Like having a jarring title isn't wrong.
Especially when it comes to the WHO going out it's way to call it covid-19 and removing origin from the criteria
