nearly all states in the usa don't have actual infrastructure to do any materials processing to do recycling...they used to but it all got shipped over seas
ppl in my city still put stuff out to be recycled...but the trash collectors take it ...because they burn everything
i'm pretty sure glass and metal are separated still..but out of the trash too?
