you can have a large business come in and wipe out competition with acquisitions for example

2020-11-20 22:32:30 UTC

in a situation like this price controls may become necessary

2020-11-20 22:32:43 UTC

and also limiting acquisitions a bit until the conditions relax

2020-11-20 22:33:07 UTC

yeah

2020-11-20 22:33:18 UTC

Private healthcare has this problem

2020-11-20 22:33:31 UTC

prices are also insane due to alarmingly high medical costs

2020-11-20 22:33:41 UTC

but the large businesses want to keep it this way

2020-11-20 22:33:54 UTC

Because that's how they keep newcomers out

2020-11-20 22:34:09 UTC

im fine with making changes to our health care im against free health care

2020-11-20 22:34:20 UTC

"free" healthcare has one large problem

2020-11-20 22:34:26 UTC

Reliance

2020-11-20 22:34:29 UTC

especially in the US

2020-11-20 22:34:38 UTC

People aren't necessarily known in the US for being the most responsible πŸ˜‰

2020-11-20 22:35:08 UTC

nor are they known for their education (as in they are ignorant)

2020-11-20 22:35:22 UTC

What that ends up causing is reliance on public services

2020-11-20 22:35:27 UTC

i think if they do a free health care thing they should do a optin thing. where if you want free health care they will take what they need out your paycheck and if you dont you do the private health care

2020-11-20 22:35:32 UTC

which causes costs to shoot off to mega infinity

2020-11-20 22:36:11 UTC

there would have to be more put into it obviously it wouldnt be that simple but thats as complicated as my brain can handle

2020-11-20 22:36:19 UTC

lol

2020-11-20 22:37:23 UTC

If I were to support a public option

2020-11-20 22:37:29 UTC

I'd only go as far as public health insurance

2020-11-20 22:37:40 UTC

but not a public healthcare system

2020-11-20 22:38:03 UTC

that would work too

2020-11-20 22:39:30 UTC

Yeah, insurance in the US needs reforms

2020-11-20 22:39:32 UTC

private insurance

2020-11-20 22:39:36 UTC

I wouldn't make it public but

2020-11-20 22:39:41 UTC

private needs a big overhaul

2020-11-20 22:46:53 UTC

As the insured isn’t paying the bill the insurance brokers get charged astronomical prices because β€œthey can”.
Medical costs elsewhere where there are no middle men (insurance) the prices are a LOT lower.

2020-11-20 23:08:08 UTC

Do you have any sources on this?

2020-11-20 23:20:03 UTC

Here's another thing we should be worried about

2020-11-20 23:20:19 UTC

it's projected to increase even faster

2020-11-21 02:32:18 UTC

do you think weed should be legal

2020-11-21 02:34:17 UTC

For health reasons. Not for recreation

2020-11-21 02:34:20 UTC

Well....

2020-11-21 02:34:27 UTC

I don't know. It's complicated imo

2020-11-21 02:36:43 UTC

hmm

2020-11-21 02:36:51 UTC

I mean....

2020-11-21 02:40:01 UTC

Alcohol and other drugs are legal which are just as addictive. I honestly don't have a stance. If I were to, I'd go for the moral of it just being a substance for recreation. But other than that, I see no legal reason it shouldn't be legal considering other drugs are for recreational purposes
