Linux is a fine operating system, but in my opinion, it’s for the aficionados only. Windows is pretty mainstream, but clunky at times. Mac OS seems to be for the casual dude, I guess.

2020-11-09 20:25:06 UTC

But yeah, Linux is better 😎

2020-11-09 20:25:24 UTC

Even Mac OS is a distribution of GNU, isn’t it?

@LuckyPuffy no, mac os is based on unix. it cant be a linux distro since mac is closed source, it violates gnu

2020-11-09 21:20:12 UTC

Mac is actually more specifically a derivative of BSD.

2020-11-09 21:32:23 UTC

which is unix based

2020-11-10 00:29:12 UTC

Guys anyone know much about the Wyze headphones?

2020-11-10 00:29:55 UTC

Ryzen 5 3600 gang

2020-11-10 04:51:35 UTC

ayyy, that ram though. Needs an upgrade

2020-11-10 04:51:46 UTC

yeah, and I need a better gpu

2020-11-10 04:51:56 UTC

what gpu do you have

2020-11-10 04:52:49 UTC

Radeon 5500XT

2020-11-10 04:52:56 UTC

got it for $150

2020-11-10 04:53:03 UTC

stopgap solution

2020-11-10 04:56:06 UTC

pretty similar to the 1660/1660 super/1660 ti if im not mistaken performance wise

2020-11-10 04:56:31 UTC

I would think but my demands outweigh its capabilities

2020-11-10 04:56:41 UTC

1080p normal on GTAV is 30fps

2020-11-10 04:57:23 UTC

oh thats not great

2020-11-10 04:57:30 UTC

idk i dont have gta

2020-11-10 04:57:53 UTC

1660 super handles everything i need it to for now

2020-11-10 04:58:19 UTC

I was looking at one, but that would be about $250 for a mid range one

2020-11-10 04:58:34 UTC

Still an eyeballed decision to buy

2020-11-10 04:59:45 UTC

what is your gpu budget. Id look into upgrading to an rtx 2060 or the radeon equivalent (im not sure tbh). Ive read the 2060 and Ryz 5 3600 make an excellent combo

2020-11-10 05:00:43 UTC

rtx 2060 is definitely a bit more pricy though

2020-11-10 05:00:45 UTC

750 watts system total

2020-11-10 05:00:48 UTC

money not an object

2020-11-10 05:00:55 UTC

just want 1080p max

2020-11-10 05:02:41 UTC

rtx 2060 would probably be a good card than. but research is one of the best things in determining personal need obviously

2020-11-10 05:04:23 UTC

my older brother uses an i7 6700k with a 1060 6gb

2020-11-10 05:04:49 UTC

gets 59 fps with AC Odyssey and Origins on very high

2020-11-10 05:05:08 UTC

on paper the 5500XT was a 1060 equivalent but i dunno now

2020-11-10 22:35:28 UTC

you know what would be really cool? If gpus became less expensive after the next gen comes out

2020-11-10 22:35:41 UTC

yes yes i know, drivers and good quality keeps it alive

2020-11-10 22:36:20 UTC

but its unfortunate that i could get a 1070ti for 50bucks less than the 3070 when it isnt being scalped to death

2020-11-11 02:04:57 UTC

> but its unfortunate that i could get a 1070ti for 50bucks less than the 3070 when it isnt being scalped to death
@ALousyUsername the market is very controlled, even after next gen rolls out

2020-11-11 03:23:46 UTC

ive got a box with 2 nvidia quadros (i mainly do lspdfr and other modded gta on) and my main setup with a single 1070 founders edition. i can already tell you, my next build will have an amd card lol

2020-11-11 03:32:14 UTC

i have a 1660 Super. its a pretty decent card for light 1080 high-ultra gaming on most games
