2020-12-09 01:38:09 UTC

2020-12-09 01:38:40 UTC

I’ll have the money by February it’s a matter of when I can get one for a reasonable price

2020-12-09 01:39:14 UTC

those darn Ebay Scalpers too

2020-12-09 01:39:51 UTC

ik this is off topic, but what is a good price for a decent monitor? I just need a second one for school

2020-12-09 01:40:04 UTC

depends on the monitor

2020-12-09 01:40:41 UTC

so what should I look for then? what things do i need to consider?

2020-12-09 01:42:34 UTC

Just for school not gaming or anything? If for regular school you can find some good office monitors under $200 easily

2020-12-09 01:43:15 UTC

Ehhh prices might be messed up because of pandemic idk though

2020-12-09 01:43:19 UTC

For $200 you can get a good monitor as long as you aren't trying for an ultrawide or 4k.

2020-12-09 01:43:41 UTC

It’s awesome how cheap some monitors are now

2020-12-09 01:43:51 UTC

1080 should be fine for what im doing

2020-12-09 01:44:47 UTC

i just game on my laptop screen cause its 4k, but I want a second monitor for when im doing research projects and need a bunch of tabs open

2020-12-09 01:44:56 UTC

Oh yeah easily under 200

2020-12-09 01:45:13 UTC

cool. thanks for the help guys

2020-12-09 01:45:42 UTC

Monitors are the thing in tech Im not as good at

2020-12-09 01:46:31 UTC

For a 24 inch, 1080p is fine but if you go larger like a 27 inch you should invest in a 1440p monitor. In my opinion, 1080p at 27 inch has the pixels to large where text isn't very sharp.

2020-12-09 01:47:04 UTC

As a 32 inch curved 1080 user, I can confirm this is true

2020-12-09 01:47:45 UTC

Hoping to get something 27 inch 1440p 144hz

2020-12-09 01:47:50 UTC

thanks bro, ill check it out

2020-12-09 01:48:03 UTC

Np

2020-12-09 01:48:50 UTC

ye David, i have noticed that. I might look at 4ks just to see what they have, but i think i cant afford one rn

2020-12-09 01:52:11 UTC

If you have any light from a windows behind you or a bright lamp behind you, look for a matted screen if possible instead of your normal glossy one. For your budget you probably won't have choice in this but if possible a IPS or VA panel is really nice to have over a standard TN panel. TN panels have poor viewing angles and with cheap ones, colors can be off but that isn't a huge problem anymore.

2020-12-09 01:53:59 UTC

The poor angles of TN is more a problem if you use dual monitors or if you view from the side like if you have a friend next to you who you are showing something. The color accuracy problems is also more noticeable with dual monitors because the monitors may not display colors the same.

2020-12-09 01:56:23 UTC

hmm gotcha. I might just up my budget to 250ish than. Ill probly never buy a tv anyways xD
