Yeah that is

2020-12-11 15:06:13 UTC

Hey do you have a laptop

2020-12-11 15:06:27 UTC

No, desktop

2020-12-11 15:06:33 UTC

Ok

2020-12-11 15:06:49 UTC

How much was it and how good is it

2020-12-11 15:07:50 UTC

Well prebuilt, and I think I paid maybe $900 for it not counting the monitor. Imo it's good, but that's just my opinion lol

2020-12-11 15:08:24 UTC

I've heard the cpu is probably weaker than it could've been for the price but whatever

2020-12-11 15:08:30 UTC

Do you play any video games on it or use blender

2020-12-11 15:08:38 UTC

That sucks

2020-12-11 15:09:04 UTC

I only do X-Plane as far as games, and have never done blender

2020-12-11 15:09:19 UTC

If you could X-Plane as a game haha

2020-12-11 15:09:27 UTC

Hmm

2020-12-11 15:09:28 UTC

What CPU do you have

2020-12-11 15:09:33 UTC

^

2020-12-11 15:09:40 UTC

i5-9400f

2020-12-11 15:10:05 UTC

Depends on how you play it I suppose. Sim enthusiasts get uptight about the difference between sim and game

2020-12-11 15:10:09 UTC

Hello Smoky

2020-12-11 15:10:13 UTC

Hello

2020-12-11 15:10:44 UTC

I play mainly as a sim since I am an aspiring pilot haha

2020-12-11 15:10:54 UTC

Anyway I was asking because my laptop is a piece of crap I'm planning on upgrading but wanted to get some ideas on what I should buy

2020-12-11 15:11:03 UTC

What’s your budget

2020-12-11 15:11:09 UTC

Budget makes the difference

2020-12-11 15:11:24 UTC

And laptop or desktop

2020-12-11 15:11:43 UTC

I would like it to be $1,000 but the longer I wait the more I can spend on it

2020-12-11 15:11:51 UTC

I would prefer a laptop

2020-12-11 15:12:32 UTC

Also, gaming/high demand programs or just regular laptop things whatever that might be. Sorry for so many questions lol

2020-12-11 15:13:01 UTC

I would like a laptop that I can game on

2020-12-11 15:13:30 UTC

Idrk anything about laptops so I'll let smoky handle this xd

2020-12-11 15:13:49 UTC

I’d have to look more into it, but for around $1000 I believe you can get a decent gaming laptop with a 1650 GPU 8-16 gb of ram

2020-12-11 15:14:13 UTC

Processor idk maybe a Ryzen 5 3600 or whatever the intel equivalent is

2020-12-11 15:14:45 UTC

Laptops you also have to be careful because lots of them come with barely any storage like just 256 gb SSD or whatever

2020-12-11 15:14:45 UTC

Okay thanks! Would you recommend me waiting until I can spend more money on one?

2020-12-11 15:15:05 UTC

Definitely^^

2020-12-11 15:15:15 UTC

Ok lol

2020-12-11 15:15:28 UTC

Possibly. I believe $1200-1300 is a pretty sweet spot for in between mid and high gaming end laptops

2020-12-11 15:15:37 UTC

Covid might have changed that though idk

2020-12-11 15:15:54 UTC

Because of demand

2020-12-11 15:15:59 UTC

And supply

2020-12-11 15:16:23 UTC

Yep

2020-12-11 15:16:35 UTC

Just don’t pay 1300 for a 1650 super

2020-12-11 15:16:47 UTC

Lots of $1300 with 1650s
