I have thought about leaving furries and never doing art of them again, but I ultimately decided to not let them ruin it for me and do what I enjoy.

well go back to the early 2000s, there were like 2 artists that were the fringe at the time, i'd name them but i don't want to subject you to them if you dare to search. But at the time that was not the norm, now it is and furries like me are seen as horrible by right wingers because of what the fandom has become
