Like, pen values for stock ammo are all sorts of fucked up, HE does better at penetrating than AP does even against flat surfaces, gotta pay to use the good ammo

Hell, i managed to kill a KV-2 with an 88cm gun with HE in a german VK

German tanks are the weakest in wot

Frankly i think armor in WoT's is irrelevant, because someone on the opposite team will still find a way to pen you no matter your thickness or angling

And if you have armor you gonna get raped by artillery

Then again most of the IJA's tank projects were hot garbage, except for the amphibious Ka-Mi, that thing fit so well into the doctrine they used

Probably didnt help that the IJN and their airforce were the teachers pet, so almost all funding and resources went to making ships and planes and fueling them, while the IJA just sits there in the mud with trench foot

Even tho the IJA sacrificed more of itself to hold islands against the US
