Everyone: canada buy hornets

Rambo:

Everyone: Yeah the Canadian buying hornets was a very good choice

TacLar: honestly Hornet was a good choice for Canada for the time, especially if only havign the budget to makethe compromise for having a single combat aircraft type. The contract for acquisition was signed in 1980). SO by 1983 Canada started receiving amodern, brand new plane that replaced multiple aircraft ( F104, F5, F101) to fulfill all their roles. Although F16 first, may have ushered in the era of fly by wire, the Hornet for its time was a state of the art strike fighter, that in turn brought upon an era of the digital interface " IE glass cockpits", all whilst being streamlined enough to be much easier on logistics and maintenance than the Cat as well as a lesser purchase cost per airframe. At the same time the Hornet for its time was arguably more capable in a2a in avionics and weapons the Viper which at the time had considerably inferior APG66 radar, and no bvr missile capability. So between the even more cheap F16 and single role Tomcat or F15. the Hornet was a happy middle ground. The Tomcat wasn't purchased because it was more expensive. It was also less flexible and with hindsight would have proven to be a hangar queen. I mean you think Cf18's are past their intended airframe hours and barely holding together now? Relative to legacy Hornets imagine trying to maintain F-14's into present day.

dayum

2020-12-03 23:04:50 UTC

Ooh

2020-12-04 00:21:11 UTC

no war is a good war and no war should be a favorite. But if I had to choose i'd say the invasion of afghanistan because we killed the extremists right after 9/11

2020-12-04 00:21:33 UTC

i like ww1

2020-12-04 00:21:52 UTC

2020-12-04 00:22:10 UTC

2020-12-04 02:06:27 UTC

Dunkirk was a British perspective with some American scenes, with a little french perspective as well but no soviets.
yeah I see what you mean. the soviets don't make a likable protagonest

2020-12-04 02:12:34 UTC

or even french resistance

2020-12-04 04:37:40 UTC

Korea and Vietnam are interesting to me

2020-12-04 04:38:18 UTC

Korea because it’s a more modern war fought with leftover WW2 equipment and Vietnam was the AR platform’s baptism by fire

2020-12-04 04:49:05 UTC

@ConstantColt058 I would have to disagree, the Afghanistan invasion further entangled us in middle eastern affairs, and I believe the reason it lasted so long was because Bush was getting a fat check for the war...but I do guess I have my personal issues with Bush

2020-12-04 05:15:23 UTC

The invasion of Afghanistan was after 9/11 and fully warranted bush had no motive other than to eliminate extremests especialy the ones responsible. The Bush oil lies are fictional and there is no proof whatsoever. They were lies that cautor to the week minded and were tools of division. The persian gulf war was a UN operation and completly justified. the invasion of Iraq was a response to insergants, nucliar manufacturing and sadams brutality.

2020-12-04 05:15:56 UTC

I made a lot of typo's

2020-12-04 05:25:56 UTC

Bush is a legend

2020-12-04 05:43:41 UTC

Bush did jack squat for my family

2020-12-04 05:55:13 UTC

thats a rather stupid way of looking at things. Its what he can to to improve the country and then things that may be effecting you and others

2020-12-04 06:13:56 UTC

Look into the Great Recession, and all of the people who lost their houses in the housing crash, he "improved" this country by forcing the market up so the Republicans would look good for the 2008 election year.

2020-12-04 06:14:16 UTC

And that didn't turn out so well

2020-12-04 06:14:49 UTC

But I'm going to stop myself here, this is a military channel after all

2020-12-04 07:10:30 UTC

the invasion of Afghan was to then invade Turkmenistan and steel oil and natural gas it was un warranted and then led to 1000's of war crimes the invasion of Afghan was also built of lies
