late war torpedos did that

2021-01-04 02:45:26 UTC

anyways a modern destroyer would be hardpressed to win a 1 on 1 with something like the Iowa Class

2021-01-04 02:45:43 UTC

Actually for battleships the most armoured part of the ship is the turrets.

2021-01-04 02:45:54 UTC

Followed by the area around the bridge.

2021-01-04 02:46:25 UTC

When it comes down to a couple inches and something with no armor penetration, I don’t it’d make a difference

2021-01-04 02:46:31 UTC

Yeah

2021-01-04 02:47:02 UTC

Iowa's also had the best fire control system of any battleship...

2021-01-04 02:47:24 UTC

What do you guys think of my jerry rigged tank destroyer born out of sheer absolute boredom

2021-01-04 02:47:37 UTC

It's beautiful

2021-01-04 02:48:14 UTC

Those guns are so big in comparison to the chassis

2021-01-04 02:48:17 UTC

XD

2021-01-04 02:48:22 UTC

I love it

2021-01-04 02:49:53 UTC

I’m amazed that the mount even fit the flak guns “turret ring”

2021-01-04 02:55:21 UTC

12.8 cm

2021-01-04 02:55:24 UTC

Lol

2021-01-04 06:32:38 UTC

Not just 12.8cm tho its even an duel one

2021-01-04 19:00:09 UTC

The turrets on an Iowa class battleship were literally the most secure places on the ship, which into two entrances, one being on the bottom of the turret on the top deck, and the other being 5 decks down at the base of the turret.

2021-01-04 19:14:03 UTC

Safest unless you were inside it when out of battery happens

2021-01-05 00:15:18 UTC

Oh god.

2021-01-05 00:15:37 UTC

Is it possible to out of battery a 16 inch naval gun?

2021-01-05 00:15:54 UTC

Technically I would be right

2021-01-05 00:59:31 UTC

Get your war predictions in now!

2021-01-05 00:59:40 UTC

USA vs Russia vs China!

2021-01-05 01:52:26 UTC

You can scroll up a day or two for that

2021-01-05 02:24:40 UTC

the biggest win would be to turn the other two against each other

2021-01-05 02:32:46 UTC

Yup

2021-01-05 02:32:58 UTC

Russia would control the skies

2021-01-05 03:25:49 UTC

but china would have the funds

2021-01-05 03:44:42 UTC

Yeah

2021-01-05 03:45:14 UTC

Russia would rule the skies and AA area. They also have better tanks.

2021-01-05 03:45:23 UTC

But as you said china has the funds.

2021-01-05 04:02:09 UTC

can you say russia has the better tanks when they're all designed for different purposes?

2021-01-05 04:03:52 UTC

well, the issue is that both China and Russia havent exactly properly entered into the realm of Stealth combat technologies and aircraft mounted cyberware suites, unlike the US which has heavily invested into the idea of both since the 70's and 80's

2021-01-05 04:04:32 UTC

meaning that, even tho yes China and Russia would have the numbers advantage in the sky, that means nothing if you cant see where the enemy is thats downing your aircraft

2021-01-05 04:08:06 UTC

for Russia, they over the past 10-20 years have faced economic troubles due to their exploits in many regions across the world that they can no longer sustain, which has bled into their progress into developing proper Stealth Aircraft, hell Russia's supposed big and powerfull SU-57 suffered from this as it was supposed to be co-developed and produced with India, but satisfaction of the project with India faltered massivly a couple of years ago so now the aircraft is in a state of limbo with less than 20 having been actually produced and not all the technologies for it being fully developed and it is likely the aircraft will be cancelled all together as currently Russia has to pay the brunt of its costs due to India pulling out of the deal.

2021-01-05 04:08:44 UTC

Russia's tanks are pretty good. They do have the largest amount of tanks but how many are fully operational is anyone's guess lmfao.

2021-01-05 04:09:44 UTC

and China, well their latest attempt at doing a Stealth Aircraft are in mixed results, especially after during its 1st reveal flight of a recent attempt at theres one of the demonstrator aircraft alsmost totalled itself before it ever left the runway as it wasnt properly built in the factory and thourouly tested prior to the public reveal

2021-01-05 04:11:03 UTC

China's stealth jets are paper tigers. Don't have much of an opinion on them.

2021-01-05 04:11:18 UTC

the problem with russian tanks is that they're really only good in flat terrain

2021-01-05 04:11:22 UTC

yeah

2021-01-05 04:11:35 UTC

Didn't know that that's a factor for sure though.
