nice
you know i find it funny how the French with La Salle basically just discovered some of the worst places in the US imaginable all because he wanted to take a joy ride down the Mississippi in his explorers ship
The French work in mysterious ways
Yeah lol
Its even funnier when you find out he wanted to do that again
This time going up river on the mississippi instesd of going down jt
> hell from what iv talked with people around my age, a lot of them think that Texas was land stolen from Mexico by US imperialism
@Zilla who cares if we "stole" it or not, if Mexico couldn't take it back back then, that's their problem, not ours
exactly
> I noticed that student dont like History or know almost nothing about is because its barely taught in elementary and if it though, then its European history like wtf.
@Tripolic X Oh yeah, I remember in 4th grade D-Day was just a paragraph, and there was nothing about the Pacific theater in WWII, except the nuking of Hiroshima and Nagasaki
which the liberals and the pope apparently complained about
even though none of them probably understand how bad the alternative was
Yeah, how many purple hearts were made in preparation for the invasion of Japan? I know we only recently ran out of the stockpile that was made
We had enough to carry us through Korea, Vietnam, And every single scuffle in the Middle East
Yeah, even with the Soviets and the rest of the allies coming over it would've been a bloodbath
Just be glad it went the way it did
Yeah
Nuking the Japs and liberating Manchuria saved millions of lives which would have been lost in the invasion of the mainland.
Which is why it’s justified and Twitter morons are dumb
Well it's Twitter. That by default is to be expected.
the standard
Indeed
Does anyone else watch the History Guy on YOutube?
yep
I love his videos
He makes History fun
yeah he does
The only history channel I actively watch on youtube is Sabaton History
The only history channel I watch is Pepe pig
Ian McCollum from ForgottenWeapons is pretty educational.
@Deleted User I learn more from them then I do in school
@thatguybrody while he is, the history he teaches mostly involves the weapon itself
Lol same
I really like the stuff on the 30 years war, cause we just got to that in History, and we skimmed over it, just saying it was a war between protestantism and catholocism, not specific countries, leaders, nothing, just the two religions that fought each other
That's horrifically simple
And with major conflicts as long and as large as those, it's never that simple
Yeah, I'm hoping that at the very least WWII is better, but we've got 500 years left to go
Anyone else find it ridiculous how many freaking medals the average north Korean general has like if we go to war we just need a magnet
Oh yeah, especially given the last time they have had any sort of battle
We just need to bring a giant magnet to the border and activate it.
But still, even war heroes like Francis Pegpegahmagabow, Lauri Torni, Simo Hayha, Bull Allen, and generals who deserve plenty of medals don't have as many, it's impractical and makes no sense
