AR-15 uses .223 which isn't even that powerful, not to mention most gun related crimes are commited with handguns

I shot a 5.56 version earlier this year

.556 and .223 are very similar cartridges so much so in some rifles they can be used interchangeably

If your rifle is chambered in 5.56 you can shoot 223 but you should not reverse that.

Also we all know the .308 battle rifle is superior
