Do you agree with this?

2020-11-26 21:13:40 UTC

anyone ever heard how insane the Maltan civilians were in the Battle of Malta in WW2?

2020-11-26 21:15:04 UTC

some greek soldiers and the Maltans chased Nazi paratroopers to a farmhouse, where over a hundred German paratroopers were hiding

2020-11-26 21:15:19 UTC

the greeks surrounded the farmhouse and shouted for the germans to surrender

2020-11-26 21:16:15 UTC

after an hour the Maltans, armed with knives were just like "f*ck the geneva convention" and rushed the farmhouse. Men, Woman, and Children rushed it, killing all but 17

2020-11-26 21:16:48 UTC

the 17 were rushed to a hospital, not because of their wounds, but so the Maltans would not torture and kill them

2020-11-26 21:16:52 UTC

Oh my god. Savages

2020-11-26 21:17:09 UTC

yeah lol. bit less savage then the nazis though

2020-11-26 21:17:25 UTC

this was the first battle for a lot of german soldiers

2020-11-26 21:17:46 UTC

A whole battalion was destroyed except for the 17 that were captured

2020-11-26 21:17:54 UTC

most were shot down in their parachutes

2020-11-26 21:18:09 UTC

Well. There's two different definitions of savage here lol

2020-11-26 21:18:20 UTC

ha yeah

2020-11-26 21:18:40 UTC

"f*ck the geneva convention". How do you think of that? It's just the heat of the moment I guess

2020-11-26 21:18:47 UTC

lmao

2020-11-26 21:19:20 UTC

also when the New Zealand battalions on Malta saw the paratroopers, most did not even know that parachutes existed

2020-11-26 21:19:43 UTC

an officer explained to a gunner how parachutes worked and the gunner replied "Bullshit!"

2020-11-26 21:21:00 UTC

Wow

2020-11-26 21:21:23 UTC

oh wait this was Crete

2020-11-26 21:21:28 UTC

not Malta

2020-11-26 21:21:43 UTC

but yeah

2020-11-26 21:21:50 UTC

it was a crazy battle

2020-11-26 21:53:19 UTC

Can really see a lotta detail in that

2020-11-27 00:10:16 UTC

Source?

2020-11-27 00:50:57 UTC

I was listening to a podcast

2020-11-27 00:51:15 UTC

So I don't have a direct source for the barn thing

2020-11-27 01:12:57 UTC

Random question. Which Roman, or Byzantine, Emperor was you lads favorite, and why?

2020-11-27 01:14:37 UTC

@Soulman hmm, hard question. For me probably Ceaser because of how short his reign was and how he was struck down by his own comrades

2020-11-27 01:16:33 UTC

@A Person Julius Caesar was never the Emperor of Rome

2020-11-27 01:16:55 UTC

But he was emperor caeser right?

2020-11-27 01:17:09 UTC

I'm not well versed with that time frame of history

2020-11-27 01:17:22 UTC

WW1 and 2 are my thing

2020-11-27 01:25:01 UTC

It's fine, thats a common misconception. Julius Caesar was never Roman Emperor, and the office was created by his Nephew Augustus decade's after his death.

2020-11-27 01:27:33 UTC

ok

2020-11-27 01:28:30 UTC

@Soulman how about Magnus Maximilius? Wasn't he the super thicc emporer?

2020-11-27 01:33:56 UTC

Magnus Maximus?

2020-11-27 02:56:58 UTC

Justinian had a glorious reign for sure

2020-11-27 03:42:14 UTC

I got some history for y’all

2020-11-27 03:45:56 UTC

Operation Mockingbird was a CIA operation started in the 50s during the Cold War to take control and influence mainstream news networks. At first, the CIA used the mainstream to project anti-communism and pro-nationalism into the minds of Americans. This quickly changed, as the media was nothing more but a puppet of the CIA that was only spewing their satanic interests from the 60s and onward.

“Operation Mockingbird did not end.”
- Kevin Shipp, former CIA officer, 2017
