2020-12-03 02:37:28 UTC

2020-12-03 02:37:47 UTC

Maybe

2020-12-03 02:38:03 UTC

The closer to Metallica's 1988 album is the fastest in beats-per-minute in their entire discography

2020-12-03 02:40:13 UTC

If anyone here hears the word "History"
What comes into your mind?

2020-12-03 02:41:38 UTC

I guess to me history is the telling of past events and experiences passed down from generations

2020-12-03 02:41:39 UTC

Your mother

2020-12-03 02:41:45 UTC

And more lol

2020-12-03 02:41:56 UTC

Is it memorization to you?

2020-12-03 02:42:01 UTC

History is wide and covers all

2020-12-03 02:43:10 UTC

All that has come before us

2020-12-03 02:43:36 UTC

I somewhat memorize history or so but I constantly forget I suck lol

2020-12-03 02:44:09 UTC

I like learning about things but I sometimes rarely keep the info

2020-12-03 02:44:12 UTC

I mean, how do you learn history, by memorization?

2020-12-03 02:44:56 UTC

@Artoo yeah 50/50 in school they dont really teach you to go in depth just memorize and do the test or whatever

2020-12-03 02:44:57 UTC

By the remarkable nature it contains to you

2020-12-03 02:45:51 UTC

I'll debunk the memorization thing, I'll just finish my classes real quick.

2020-12-03 02:45:51 UTC

But when something that is remarkable or a great story I memorize

2020-12-03 02:46:46 UTC

Okay

2020-12-03 02:48:46 UTC

History is pretty easy to learn

2020-12-03 02:48:51 UTC

Here it is.

2020-12-03 02:50:02 UTC

History is not in anyway a memorization subject. Although memorization is part, History mainly focuses on critical thinking, research, etc.

2020-12-03 02:51:41 UTC

Not all Historians are good at memorization, that's what I want to say. They are meant to create and form an argument based on documents and witnesses (which are most likely biased). If these arguments are accepted, they then get in what is taught to schools.

2020-12-03 02:51:57 UTC

That's where they are doing wrong imo.

2020-12-03 02:52:43 UTC

Yeah I agree with that history does require critical thinking

2020-12-03 02:53:02 UTC

What's the point in memorizing things if your heart isn't in it

2020-12-03 02:53:04 UTC

In fact I also started on History by memorization.

2020-12-03 02:53:23 UTC

I got more interested when I learned how it works. That's where I knew I should take it as a course.

2020-12-03 02:53:34 UTC

I want to memorize but with passion and as you also say critical thinking

2020-12-03 02:54:05 UTC

Yeah history is a awesome thing

2020-12-03 02:54:16 UTC

I know, how it works is also interesting ngl.

2020-12-03 02:55:43 UTC

The fun (and difficult) part is where you separate and know what the bias is and what is truth.

2020-12-03 02:56:48 UTC

Yeah that is important you can like some historical figures but by no means are they perfect

2020-12-03 02:56:57 UTC

No Human is perfect

2020-12-03 02:57:52 UTC

Yes.

2020-12-03 03:00:00 UTC

Like for instance the founding fathers they were generally good men but they had flaws and I have a hard time believing they have flaws lol

2020-12-03 03:11:29 UTC

History is fun subject

2020-12-03 03:12:11 UTC

Yeah it is

2020-12-03 03:30:59 UTC

History is fun for other people.
