I’m not a metallurgist or nothing, but judging from the size and length the barrel maybe it’s some sort of howitzer for sieging? @obnoxiouswolf 2

2020-12-13 22:15:47 UTC

Sorta

2020-12-13 22:15:48 UTC

But barrel length doesn’t match

2020-12-13 22:15:57 UTC

More compensating

2020-12-13 22:16:00 UTC

that one looks a bit fatter

2020-12-13 22:16:03 UTC

also that one is too large

2020-12-13 22:16:09 UTC

2020-12-13 22:17:29 UTC

2020-12-13 22:18:50 UTC

there was something that said 28 pound on the barrel

2020-12-13 22:19:11 UTC

I think 100 pound is for the weight of the shot

2020-12-13 22:19:25 UTC

Or something I’m not sure

2020-12-13 22:19:35 UTC

^ that’s also a parrot rifle 100 pounds

2020-12-13 22:22:33 UTC

This is from an auction but I think it’s the same gun

2020-12-13 22:23:19 UTC

@obnoxiouswolf 2 again sorry for the ping. Just want to help. 😄

2020-12-13 22:23:31 UTC

No

2020-12-13 22:23:41 UTC

Nevermind. The barrel is to thin

2020-12-13 22:23:50 UTC

But the shape is right

2020-12-13 22:25:00 UTC

The Parrott had a 3-inch bore, which became standard military issue in the Union army after 1863.

Prior to this the Parrott had a 2.9-inch bore.

The gun also came in 20 and 32 pounder sizes.

^ from a website

2020-12-13 22:25:35 UTC

the work were trying to do is to get a new stand for it because the old one has collapsed

2020-12-13 22:26:02 UTC

Yeah I see. It’s resting on the ground. 😦
