Send a pic of the part

2020-06-29 20:55:38 UTC

The part is what holds the rear attaching pin in place to connect the upper and lower

Sorry for potato quality

2020-06-29 20:55:58 UTC

So what seems to be the problem

2020-06-29 20:56:25 UTC

The rear attaching pin for the lower has a small detent that keeps it from sliding completely out

2020-06-29 20:56:47 UTC

It seems it either sheered off or somehow loosened and fell out

2020-06-29 20:56:53 UTC

Hmm

2020-06-29 20:57:25 UTC

You might have to twist the pin or look with a flashlight for any damage

2020-06-29 20:57:54 UTC

Yeah

One of my favorite toys

2020-06-29 20:58:06 UTC

I'd help if I could but considering I've never even held an AR style rifle I wouldn't know 😅

2020-06-29 20:58:30 UTC

If it sheered off then you’ll have to go to a machinist to have it put back

2020-06-29 20:58:36 UTC

I have minimal experience with Ar 15s

2020-06-29 20:58:36 UTC

Nice toy

2020-06-29 20:58:38 UTC

I looked. On the front pin there is a small detent on the front pin in place that "clicks" into place when you either put it all the way in or pull it out for maitenance

2020-06-29 20:59:16 UTC

The rear one no longer has one. I was more or less hoping someone knew what it was called so I can call a local smith

2020-06-29 20:59:37 UTC

Look for the detent and if it’s not there you’ll need a new pin or you’ll need a machinist to put one on the pin

2020-06-29 20:59:44 UTC

The pin will be cheaper though

2020-06-29 21:01:50 UTC

Yeah, I'll definitely need a new one, I just didn't want to sound like a pleb when I call around. I've had her for going on 10 years now and never had a problem until now, and I've never seen this happen with any ar in the past

2020-06-29 21:04:10 UTC

Ok so I asked my dad about it and he said that there is a spring and pin that holds in the pin and if the spring+pin fell out you’ll need the spring and pin and get them lined up

2020-06-29 21:06:10 UTC

There’s a spot by the buffer tube that screws on with a plate that holds in the spring and pin that keeps the rear pin in if you unscrew that there’ll be a channel and if your spring+pin are there it is the rear pin but that might’ve loosened up and the spring and pin would’ve fell out

Much thanks. Unfortunately it happened at an outdoor range, so both are hopelessly lost. At least I know what to ask about when I call

2020-06-29 21:14:32 UTC

You can find the parts on different websites, magpul will likely be the best if they have it

2020-06-29 21:17:46 UTC

Called a local shop. They can take care of the parts and repair/tightening the plate for 30-40 bucks total. You are the best

2020-06-29 21:18:02 UTC

Ok happy to help

2020-06-29 21:51:56 UTC

HAPPINES IS A WARM GUN!

2020-06-29 21:59:24 UTC

Best pistol caliber I'm on the fence

2020-06-29 22:05:04 UTC

@Hunteder depends on the situation 😅

2020-06-29 22:05:08 UTC

.45 is nice

2020-06-29 22:05:21 UTC

I shoot a 40, same stopping power as a 45 with less kick

2020-06-29 22:05:23 UTC

A double stack .45 would be my choice

2020-06-29 22:05:42 UTC

I've heard that if you're getting a .40 you might as well get a .45 lol

2020-06-29 22:06:04 UTC

its a good rounded cal

2020-06-29 22:06:06 UTC

2020-06-29 22:08:00 UTC

@JJ04 if you ever visit the states I highly recommend going to a shooting range

2020-06-29 22:08:08 UTC
