I don't think that's what they meant by "Sawed Off"

It looks like it was once a full size shotgun, but had a mare's leg stock either added to it, or possibly it was cut. An image of the butt should tell us if it once had a plate on it or if it is a smooth cut. It may have been used to stick throgh a port hole of a train or coach where interior room was limited and a short stock was needed.

Here in Sacramento we can drive like 50 minutes north and we have some great shooting places
