But it has loose tolerances, and dirt and sand can get into vital components

Theres several youtube videos of guys putting the AK through some mud tests along with an AR. Ill have to dig them up. The results are suprising.

The ARs pass where the AK fails, iirc

The only test I've seen where the AK won was when they were both stuck in dry ice
