oh.. haha i don't really do sport shooting i just like to have it in my house like a conversation starter or something.

2020-08-27 00:27:29 UTC

hopefully never have to use it in its lifetime

2020-08-27 00:27:49 UTC

is it legal to use that kind of firearm to hunt?

2020-08-27 00:28:02 UTC

Depends on your state and what you're hunting

2020-08-27 00:28:16 UTC

I couldn't answer that question, unfortunately

2020-08-27 00:29:18 UTC

@ThatShadyVandal how about texas and deers

2020-08-27 00:29:35 UTC

I'm not the one to ask. I don't live out there

2020-08-27 00:29:41 UTC

I'm behind enemy lines in Commiefornia

2020-08-27 00:30:34 UTC

Chances are it's gonna depend on your chambering and magazine capacity

2020-08-27 00:34:47 UTC

> I'm behind enemy lines in Commiefornia
@ThatShadyVandal least you're not in chiraq

2020-08-27 00:34:58 UTC

> Chances are it's gonna depend on your chambering and magazine capacity
@ThatShadyVandal alright haha

2020-08-27 00:35:29 UTC

Best bet is to link up with some local hunters and have them square you away

2020-08-27 00:35:38 UTC

Department of Fish and Game can help you there too

2020-08-27 00:36:01 UTC

yeah maybe after i get the gun also when the virus lifts up

2020-08-27 00:36:48 UTC

most states, it's not the gun but the type of ammunition that matters in deer hunting

2020-08-27 00:37:03 UTC

no full metal jackets allowed

2020-08-27 00:37:35 UTC

oh

2020-08-27 00:37:54 UTC

wa2000 uses 300wm

2020-08-27 00:39:17 UTC

get some hollow points, or other expanding bullets and you're fine in most states

2020-08-27 00:39:32 UTC

thanks mate 🙂

2020-08-27 00:39:39 UTC

i hear deer meat is delicious

2020-08-27 00:39:48 UTC

it can be...

2020-08-27 00:39:55 UTC

Hollow points might expand a bit too much, depending on the design

2020-08-27 00:40:01 UTC

like everything, it's how you cook it

2020-08-27 00:41:04 UTC

expansion is the point. they want a clean kill. fmj's can pass through without killing the deer

2020-08-27 00:41:38 UTC

Expansion and clean kill?

2020-08-27 00:42:03 UTC

yes. all the energy is dumped in the animal

2020-08-27 00:42:06 UTC

A lot of expansion is going to cause a lot of tissue destruction. Good for putting the deer down but you ruin the meat

2020-08-27 00:42:56 UTC

shot placement prevents ruining the meat....unless you wanted the ribs

2020-08-27 00:43:27 UTC

True

2020-08-27 00:43:53 UTC

i think it's possible to shoot the head instead?

2020-08-27 00:44:27 UTC

head shots ruin the trophy you were going to hang on the wall 🙂

2020-08-27 00:45:06 UTC

@jenises i'd like a head with a bullet hole in its center lols haha but yeah i get it.

2020-08-27 00:47:13 UTC

with head shots, you often miss the target as deer are usually bobbing up and down while eating, or looking around for danger. the body stays relatively still

2020-08-27 00:50:50 UTC

Plus it's a psysically smaller target even if it was stationary

2020-08-27 01:33:36 UTC

yeah it'll be a great challenge.

2020-08-27 02:43:49 UTC

Less meat wasted tho

2020-08-27 02:46:11 UTC

Not gonna lie, I kinda wanna build a single shot shotgun from scratch

2020-08-27 03:20:27 UTC

i try to get em in the neck. if you get a good shot and sever the spine then you dont have to look for it

2020-08-27 03:20:44 UTC

just drops instantly

2020-08-27 03:56:53 UTC

It doesn't kill it though right? It just paralyzes it... no?
